Undying !!! http://undying.ea.com/
Let me see now...
Civilization III
Europa Universalis II
Alice
Tropico
Medieval Total War (not played it, but it looks awesome)
Outcast
Final Fantasy VII
Not all of them are new, but they all (except Medieval: TW) gave me plenty of entertainment and should run perfectly well on your system.
Terrere

cossacks was a good laff back in it's day
good games that should run ok on your system include:
Thief
System Shock 2
Alpha Centauri/Civ3
Grim Fandango
Railroad Tycoon2/Rail Across America
Starcraft
Descent Freespace
Baldurs Gate
Wargasm
X-com apocalypse
Lander
etc
System Shock 2 is class. Played the demo and was ultra-impressed. Bought the full game and couldn't get it working. Lent it to a friend, never seen it since ;(
Black and White is another one you could try if you haven't already.
Terrere
Giants. Absolutely class game, probably the funniest game ever, uses English regional accents (such a nice change from hearing American accents), lets you play a topless woman, and you get to eat people. Utter genious and probably available on budget release.
upgrade, or as terrere said, FFVII - wubbly!
giants is a top game, might have to play it on a low res with a p3 500 tho :/
As others have said, FF7 is also amazingly good. Kiss a few weeks of your life goodbye if you get it :D
omg Ps2's are like £140 now or something with 4 games? (Halo, jet set, sega gt, something else i cant remember) ?!!?
Morrowind if you like RPGs the only game that is on par with TFC for playing time :)
deus ex, diablo 2 and undying should all run ok on your setup and they're all top class games. :)

Baldurs Gate 2 is class, should keep you occupied for a few hundred hours.
aye champ manager, deus ex OWNS and will run on your pc ok, ff7 also is the ebst game ever created, but it doesnt aply as nicely on a pc (storyline is what makes it though so i guess its ok :P)

CM4 coming out soon though yeah?
Until then, Excel XP gives a similar gaming experience.
Medal of Hono(u)r worked on my p500, and you have far superior add-ons that mine.

UT2k3 and Unreal Tourney are both excellent, although I'd be surprised if they run on a 500 MHz machine ... :(
Lol I didnt notice the date untill I saw I'd already posted on it and got confused :E I was about to post an almost identical reply to one I'd posted several months earlier :P (Morrowind + addons is still ace ;) )
