I find Pop Culture Monkey's comments to be pretty derogatory, I know hes not a moderator for that forum but he is a moderator and as such should not be insulting 99% of the people who post in the N64 & GameCube forum.
I think several other people feel offended by his comments in the same way and have posted as much.
I'd suggest the ignore user option in the control panel; can be fun - you end up sounding like the deaf old relative with selective hearing who decides not to hear a particular family member, yet hears what the other people are saying back to them, announcing every so often in a loud voice "IS THAT FOOL STILL BLATHERING ON? HAVE YOU TOLD HIM THE GYPSIES LEFT HIM ON OUR DOORSTEP AS A CHILD YET?"
Totally annoying when the person tries to respond knowing they can't hear anything...

sigh, if thats the sort of attitude you want in a moderator fair enough but it doesnt give a very good impression of wireplay if the sort of person they give responsiblity to is obnoxious and argumentative. Surely by complaining and making a stand I a "being a man", I could just stop visiting thses forums but why should I leave?
Have you read his posts he is insulting, condescending and patronising. He likes to think he's being humerous but he's not he just likes to feel superior.

Don't treat the forums as a major part of your life. PCM has been like this for ages - he explained that he didnt want to be a moderator in the first place. Everything you accused him of, he admitted.

Every argument I have made, I have justified. The way in which I have said it has been justified.
If you want to complain, do it properly through a PM to the admins rather than this public display of 'snitchery'.

most GC games are 60hz now and look as good as ntsc games and in a lot of cases, better. :)
and pal tvs have been available with 60hz for a few years now, actually for a lot of years...only game developers/publishers are to lazy to bother with a simple 60hz option...again, the dreamcast did this well but no, everyone refused to buy it...hmph!
and the xbox has a region-free capability...but again, developers refuse to use the option because of publishing pressure who yes...do want the extra money they can make with the region codes. :)
anyway...just buy a boot disc or get your consoles chipped chaps. :P

In the thread complaining about you being insulting and offensive you are again being insulting and offensive pcm.
Your attitude stinks, and it does reflect badly upon wireplay for allowing such an offensive person to moderate thier forums. You have performed your job well, although with occasionally questionable methods, but I wonder if they could find someone to do the same without dirtying the name of the company with such an attitude.
Btw, the 1st hundred of so times you and ez insulted me werent funny, and putting a smiley on them now doesnt give you the right to be offensive. You dont get to insult people you treat like dirt and then pretend it was a joke :|

I must say that PCM does tend to be a bit agressive, but I find that he's more informative than he is insulting. Everyone's got personalities they clash with, so just get over it. And if you're going to complain about someone, do it in a professional way, like e-mailing the company, not posting some attention seeking topic on a forum.

You know exactly why I was banned, because velvet was in a bad mood, and wasnt getting payed, so at the time did pretty much whatever he felt like. Funny how my account was instantly restored when wireplay went back online.
Its very underhand of you to bring it up without posting the full details, but then I expect that of you. You care nothing of true facts and only of muddying the waters of a discussion that reflects badly upon you.
Maybe I should bring something up that you have done since being made a moderator that is illegal and threatening, and abuses your right to see the ips of users?

I'd have to disagree with you Helena. PCM isn't rude or abusive (unless it's to Acid, and that goes back many years) unless he has a reason to be. All of this started because people took something he said the wrong way. He only became rude after people were abusive to him. Arrogant? Intolerant? Possibly, but people often are when they know something is correct, yet others fail to see it. Ignorant? I don't think this applies to PCM at all. Highly irritating? This is a purely personal aspect. I for one, don't find him irritating. Far from it. He has always been courteous and helpful to me.
To sum up, everyone just forget it. He is a good, strict mod, which is exactly what the forum that he moderates needs. Even Acid has admitted that PCM has been very good here. You won't change him, so there's no point carrying this on.

Illegal and threatening? The wrestling forum knows what you're on about, though generally everyone else here doesn't. I found out everything I needed to know shortly after we left MPZ... Long before I was a mod here. It had nothing to do with looking at IP addresses, my methods were far more wily and cunning than that. I wouldn't have the first clue what to do with an IP address, anyway.
In short, it's not Wireplay business. Furthermore, it was never a secret in the first place amongst the wrestling forum and anyone who could be bothered to show up and read any posts there. Tell who you like. It'd be entirely expected for you to betray a confidence amongst our forum like the little humpty-dumptying rat that you are.
The ends justify the means and everyone on our forum thanks me for what I did. I stand by my actions, as does our forum. You can say what you like but you can only make an enemy of yourself on this one.

I have now changed all my details to fake ones, and reset my password, and removed any way of getting it other than my own brain, but I can only assume he has taken my personal details so he has the option of doing the same to me as he did the other person.
If you do so pcm, I will contact the police, and have you arrested. I have ways of obtaining the same information about you if the need arises.
Before this, I didnt like you. Now, I am disgusted by you.

You neglect to mention that whilst yes, I guessed the answer to your question, I also returned the password to you straight away without interfering with your account at all.
I did it as an expression of goodwill, and expression of the fact that whilst it's true that I don't really like you, I certainly don't dislike you enough to ever try to hurt you. I wanted to demonstrate to you that it's possible to 'get to know someone' without nosing about their IP address. Instead, you throw it back in my face. I'm glad you reset your password and question. So many people make the mistake of having a guessable question. I actually did you a favour, imagine the damage that somebody could have done to you if they had been so inclined. But again, you throw it back in my face.
But that's okay. I don't mind. I give up.
Disgusted by me? I've just made sure you can't be totally destroyed by anyone with a will to hurt you.
Thousands of Hotmail accounts are hacked every day, it's one of those things that happens and because it's so abundant, Microsoft themselves pay very little attention to it. if someone had really hacked your account to hurt you, there is nothing you could have done about it because nobody listens when you try and get it fixed.

Y'know, it's true that I shouldn't have changed Acid's Hotmail password purely to prove a point. I could have made the point just as well by explaining things slowly, but instead I went with the 'spectacular' approach and once again the point has been missed, so I can only regret the decision.
That was ill judged, and though no harm has been done, I apologise.
Shadowman's right, though. Yes, it's contentious, but that's the whole point of debate and discussion. Contrary to popular belief, I read every response and I have been known to alter my standpoint on issues because of arguments put to me. I have even found myself agreeing with Acid on occasion, as I'm sure he may have (once or twice) agreed with me.
Unfortunately, of late I've found myself handcuffed by the fact that I was made a moderator last year. It seems that some expect me to hold back my opinions because of my position. I don't think the job is about that at all, if anything, it should be a modertor's job to piss people off when discussion is on the decrease just to get people going again.
So long as the job the moderator does in moderating the forum is impartial, then what does it matter?
I haven't had any fun visiting this forum lately. I'm tired of being shackled by this 'moderator' thing, and I'm tired of being subject to this complaint - A thread that should have been deleted and handled in the proper manner, but clearly nobody at Wireplay gives a **** about that any more.
I'm just tired, I'm done here.
I don't care about you being a moderator or anything, I just don't like your abusive attitude. It costs nothing to be polite & friendly, or to accept other people's views no matter how much they differ from your own.

TheBuZZArd, I agree with what someone else (can't remember who and can't be bothered trawling thru the whole thread to find out) said about the correct (or at least prudent) way of going about things like this; If you have a grievance or complaint about a member of the community, be it a member, a moderator, and admin, or whatever, then first take it up with the person in question either via PM or email, or somewhere not so public.
If that doesn't help, then take it up with an admin or official, again via email or PM.
Posting something like this on the main public forum isn't going to help, if anything (as we've seen by some of the posts) it's only going to make things worse, stiring up more bad feelings and starting a flame war, which is pretty much what's happened here, and it's got us all nowhere.
