Hey all, this is time for the community to have a chance to take part in the naming of parts of the land.
Our first part in the competition is to name the land itself. There has been no fully decided theme for this, this may discourage your idea making processes, SO TRY HARDER :D
You may enter as many times as you like.. just simply post here on this thread.. The best name will win. Also if you want, post a theme/idea behind your name if you like. Describe why the name of the land exists (why you have chosen the said name). For all you know we may base this land on your idea, or partially use your idea.. All uses of ideas/names will be rewarded well.
I know we havent even shown a picture of the map, but if you want to wait there will be one up tomorrow... so if you cant think of any names yet, do not worry!
Along with this, we need a name for our fortress village. Read the development diary post for more info on the village! Will be posting pictures of it soon!
This competition ends on Friday.

Recalling in the new land: DISABLED. As part of the idea of making this land harder (and may i add, richer and better for nice loot) you will be unable to mark and/or recall here! There may be some rare 'rune' drops which will fade after about 2 uses to this land (special locations).

Its latin, can you guess what it means?

Midgar - Huge City, Many montsers to fight
Salaria - PVP town, Lots of Dungeons

Yorkshire - Lol no not the pudding, based on deserts,mosnters
Eden - Holy place, Hero's, Loads of monsters.

Land Name: Inkanyezi Nezazi
How the name came to be: When the land was young and was unknown by many people a young man named Kiro Pier set off on journys with his pet dog to find new lands and realms. Setting off with his backpack and his pet dog he searched long and hard until he came to a place where no1 had been bfor, he claimed it and named it after his dog Inkanyezi Nezazi.
(i know im naff at sotrys but still the name pwns :p)
I think left field is the best one yet.

Westside: Long time ago, like say 3 weeks, some black men were running from the cops with a trunk load of stolen stereo equipment. They found a gate to this wierd-ass land and used their fo-fo's to clear it of all human life. Then they set up a fortress city they called the "Ghetto" where only other black people could live. There are many monsters in this new land including "pimp-daddy" with a special hot-iron attack, and the much feared "Thug-Dragon" with its deadly breath attack, which reaks of stale bread and funions. There is a rare chance of getting "bling-bling" each time you kill this dragon.

I like Beasts idea for the name of the land (Novus Terra). I reckon the capital city should be named something like Midgar or 1 of the other big Cities in the FF games.

Alternatively, we could call it Alton Towers.
Or maybe even Disneyland, perhaps have giant mice running round and upon entering you're greeted by a huge dog in a hat. I know that would bring me there :P

how about Pagan from the Ultime online 8 series.. great story :)
His quest on Serpent Isle complete, the Avatar is dragged through time and space by the Guardian, and flung onto Pagan. Pagan is part of the Guardians world, and very different to Brittania.
The people here have never even heard of the virtues, and have their own culture and way of life.
The avatar must adventure alone in a strange land, and struggle to uphold the Virtues in a realm where such things mean nothing.
His quest, to escape Pagan, to survive, to return home
altough i did enjoy the black gate and serpent's isle more :)

why not have a name from LOTR as this shard is 'suposed' to be based on lotr due to the name Lothlorien.

Gondor
Rohan
etc
Some good names for land/cities:
(1)SaranGrave Flat = excellent for area with low density trees
(2)RivenRock = a place where mountains are high and waterfalls burst
(3)Morrinmoss Forest = forest area (trees etc..)
(4)Black River = the land should have a river? :) i really want one
(5)Mount Thunder = some grand errie peak
(6)Trothgard = a connected island surounded by water/river?
(7)Guards Gap = an area enclosed with medium sized mountains
(8)Revelstone = good place to break a pic-axe
(9)Lands drop = amazing.. where there is a crack within the earth
(10)Andelainian Hills = a rich mountainous area.. not so many trees just hills...
(11) Seareach = a plain by the sea
(12) Doom's Retreat = a mountain area.. well gaurded
(13)Revelwood = open plain enclosed my trees
(14)Mithil Stonewood = mountain - danger terrain
(15)Treacher's Gorge = name says it all
(16)Woodhelvinen = a place for noobs perhaps.. but the name, atleast to me doesn't stick to my mind very well ast the other previous names...

thalos is plenty lame, this contest was more about the person who names it, not the name, imo.

clown we did think of them, nemoria particularly
and people would complain no matter what we pick
and there was too many by far to have a poll
and the title of this thread is Competition, as in, u suggest names, we choose the winner
can always use some of these names for the places in Thalos, i like Rysnik and reckon we could use it for one town in particular, its mostly wooden and on a mountainside, other staff prolly know the one i mean
other than that, Midgar sounds too much like Midgaard from DAoC, Nemoria we seriously considered, i think there is a player called Falador, so didnt want to name it after a player... i like Rysnik but it doesnt sound quite right for the whole land
anyway, some people would be unhappy no matter what its called, and u will get used to it in time anyway, so its not a big deal really
I still support my idea on Nemoria :) sounds good completely made up and its original. Why cant the players vote thats the best idea. Maybe the town should be named Nemoria :) that would be cool.
I will start my PVPing soon once my computer is properly running. Instead of Lagging every 3 steps.
BTW will i get any credit for nemoria????????

I have a name
-Harlem
(story behind it)-when a black farming family decided that slavery wasn't their way of living, they sought out to find a more desirable lifestyle, little knowing what they would be the founder of, they created Harlem. They came across this land by surprise, because they had been wallking through deep forests of green tall plants and poopy seeds until they reached a huge vast of land, that, as soon as you stepped inside it seemed that they could hear a faint tune of music being played, they never have heard of it before, but they found that it made them feel like they were the king of the worlkd, and that is why they stayed. Sometimes they would come across hidden treasures in the ground from people of the early age. They decided that this place looked very family orientated, which it was, well for that time, and so they set up a villiage. Hundreds of years later, the land is now considered Dark with crime everywhere, and people dying right beside you. One must really watch their back when they step in Harlem or else you could be messing with creatures/people that are ready to kill you in a second. Even the police(Moderators) don't show themselves in Harlem, for they would most likely me murdered, taken hostage or torchered, unless that is they went undercover. No one really has any explanation for why Harlem is the way it is, there is no cure, there will never be a cure. There are many things i guess that can't be explained about Harlem but the question still remains, where is the music comming from and what does it represent?

I think the new town needs to be like real evil with a happy town for blues in the middle and a small town for reds near by the main enemys in the wood should be fire Elementels there should also be a few of them ace red horses to capture ....

Thats what the brits called the mainland way back when, I think that the new land should be called this because it's a land of discovery, new things to find.
I have a few ideas i'd like to share for the new land as well as the old...
I'll start with the gameplay in general, i think the crafting menus need to be updated to the ones on the OSI servers, they are much easier to use.
I'd also like to see a powerhour or garaunteed gain for skills...
Support for 3D, ie. 3d client
Another trash reward, Bless deed for clothing for 1million gold
I'd also like to see a spawn % for ore on the web page...if there is one.
