Get 'search sluth' simple program, simply kills EVERY popup window with an audible alert to tell you it has done so. Hold ctrl and click again if you really want the window! :D

That's the one I use. Works perfectly, configurable, and you won't even know it's there.
get ad-aware
gets rid of the stuff that causes pop ups :)
Ad-ware just remove spy-ware, pop-ups are generally java scripts embedded in web pages that you land on. Ad-ware won't stop popups... if I understand these things correctly :)
must be a coincidence that i get a pop up when i open kazaa then ;p

nah theres a thing adaware defines as spyware, even in kazaa lite, which u cant delete else kazza wont work, i assume its the popup add.

i use diet kazza to stop the spyware in kazzalite ;o
works brill.
also that other software 'http://www.webattack.com/get/freesurfer.shtml' one, when a popup occurs it loads up Visual studio with some debugger thingy, and closes the IE window |:

um can anyone confirm that all these proggys have 0% spyware/adware!
Wasn't Kazzalite meant to be the ad free Kazza?

That one Tonster suggested seems to work very well on porn sites.
Mind, could have been a one off, more research needed I think....
Mozilla is the 100% sure way of killing all pop ups EXCEPT the ones you want (i.e. when you click on something to get it to pop up in a new window).

ha
Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Scripts and Plugins. I leave the bottom three ticked.
It works 100% :D
And mozilla also owns as a browser. I wish all windows had mouse gestures now :-/
Get a gesture program then Ref :P
I don't use one but I have a friend who found a fully configurable one that you can tailor to most Windows programs.

IronHeart is right. Get Proxomitron.
Okay it doesn't use perl-style regexs, and Privoxy is supposed to be better, but it does the job great and is much more than a simple popup blocker.
Nice one steev :D
Can you ask him what it's called and where he got it from? :D
