View Full Version : LMA manager , Help!
Just started playing this and i cant win fook all , im guessing there's a secret to being good at it ?
Any help/advice would be much appreciated .
And Zidane can go f*ck himself if he doesn't want to play for Portsmouth , i offered 3 million for him , what more do they want , other than the other 37 million.
still i did manage to get Andy Cole for a 2 month loan , fat lot of good it did though.
Yours sincerely , nearly relagated.
My advice: go and buy Championship Manager, then post how sorry you are for asking about another management game.
aye wtf you on Els ?! CM4 out next month, it's gonna be the dogs bollox.
LMA manager 2003 is no good then ?
Trust me to go and buy the wrong firking game , bollocks.

Blasphemer.
You dare have a footy management game that does not go by the name of Championship Manager.
Buuuuuurn him!!!!!!!!
agreed burn him :P
I would doubt it will have anywhere near as much depth and updates as the CM series mate.

Other managment games
Take it back, buy morrowind, and grow a beard :E
Eric is such a geek he doesn't like champ manager, even Oggy likes it fs.
Champ manager sucks balls.
Championship Manager is WHY I bought a computer OK?
This is how good it is.
I must admit that i thought i was buying championship manager , i saw LMA manager 2003 on the Xbox and thought thats the one everyones talking about and bought it.
I can see where my main flaw was now , it didn't say f*cking "Championship manager" on the box.
Yours Sincerely , Relagated , Humiliated , and slightly senile

AAAAAAAAAAAI! I pre-ordered my copy of champ 4 ages ago. Looks mint, whole new format and the lil 2-d pitch thing.

I pre-ordered Champ Manager 4 and Command and Conquer Generals today \o/
Hoping CM4 is different to the last couple by quite a bit, or else I see me getting bored of it in a couple of months :|

I can't wait for CM4, I want it NOW!!!! Dammit.
As good as the game has been, having to read text to tell you how the game is going is a pain. At last they have an actual game engine to display where all the players are on the pitch. It'll make choosing tactics and who to sub so much easier then just relying on their match rating.
Maybe now I'll play more then 2 seasons before getting bored.

I think my problem is I played the initial ones (Champ manager 2 onwards) to death. This meant despite all the little changes which came with each new update or game I really didn't have any commitment to playing more than an hour because it was just the same old storylines, players and results throughout the season.
I'm really hoping they've revolutionised the champ manager series with this 4th version. I haven't truly played one of the champ manager games since 99/00 probably, so I'm hoping this one will keep me hooked and be different from the rest.
Just to add, I don't know why people are raving about this above view for watching the match. Yes it may help a bit, but it's not really anything special when you consider LMA having 3D highlights :P
CM4 looks pretty spiffy, a bit less Excel like :) Looking forward to it, february still release date?

Well, I think people are pleased with this addition because they will now get a better picture of what is going on with their team. 3D highlights are all well and good, but going back a few years EA's manager game had 3d highlights, and if you watched them, nobody ever scored a goal in the second half! They also looked sh́te.
The CM4 way, you can get a good idea of positioning of certain players and also the shape of your team as a whole without the need for a gimmicky 3D engine.

Yeah I understand where you're coming from, but all I meant was when you think about it, for a supposed new game the addition of an overview interactive image of games isn't really anything revolutionary.
It will help sure, it's just it's nothing new from the CM series besides the accuracy updates and player additions.

At least this way the defenders can tackle and the attackers head and keepers save, rather than running by the ball, letting a back pass from 50 yards away in, missing a 2 yard pass ala all other 3d match engines

I much prefer this 2d match engine to any 3d one. Only because the whole thing looks like the tactics screen so its easier to see where the players are in comparison to the particular tactic that is being used.
With each new game I do think there is always something worthwhile added to make it worth buying.
Transfer rule updates
New comps
Attribute Masking
Player Compare
Increased Press Interaction
Giving Players Leave of Absence
Sending injured players away for rehab
For the sake of 30 quid and the amount of months I play it religiously, it's the best VFM game I ever bought.
Well i have to say the LMA 3d game is pretty cool , some really good action and nice goals with slow motion action replays. Also you have the option to watch the game in 3 different modes , thats to say , dont watch it , watch it normally ,or speed it up , although you can flick back and forth from the speed up options .
I dare say i will get CM4 , but i wouldn't write LMA off just yet , i cant say that watching a lots of dots running around from an overhead view thrills me to much.
