I appologise for what happened in the chatroom today... I am not quite sure exactly what happened, but anything that was displayed was done without my knowledge or will. I won't log on to IRC anymore from my computer. Good, I hate that damned oldschool program anyways. I gotta say though, when Maxx informed me that I was displaying porno messages in the IRC, I did have to laugh... in fact, I'm chuckling as I type this. Anyways, I am sorry, I will try to keep my computer's retardedness from screwing things up again :)

Btw, its a virus. You have a virus. Run a anti-virus program asap.
Its also a trojan, so id advise taking yer pc off the net until you remove the virus thingy, else you could end up loosing money/passwords.

thanks for the advice friend, but I am somewhat knowlegable in combuters. I have been running this for a long time, Norton can't find it, and that is the best. I have a few clues as to where it is, but I am just too lazy. It is not harmfull to your computers, it is barley harmfull to mine.

im sure you're very knowledgeable in "combuters". Thats why you haven't used the wonderful thing known as REFORMATING.
It is harmfull. I've seen many similar varients of the trojan you have on the norton site.
Note:
I was like you until I got w32.klez. thought I knew everything. I didn't. My computer died as a result. DONT LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU.
I cannot stress more about this.
YOU DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING NOR DOES NORTON. NORTON IS NOT THE BEST ANTI-VIRUS. NOTHING IS.
My advice:
-Update your anti-virus as much as possible.
-Backup only cruical files on a safe storage media.
-Failing the anti-virus, reformat your computer. It is never wise to leave any viruses on. They can also install further viruses that do nastier things, like a total reformat, stealing you passwords and credit card numbers. Just because it doesnt appear to be doing anything doesn't mean it's harmless.
I am sorry if I seem harsh but I found out the hard way :\

Im a Network Admin and when klez came out it had wiped out 4 computers on our network. It is a nasty bug and even though these machine did have a anti-virus program on them, it was not effective of detecting it. Trojans are very nasty and sometimes even worse than viruses for they leave back doors for hackers and other malicious programs as worms and viruses enter. Even if you dont think the virus, worm, trojan is causing any damage; what it does undercover is what you must be careful of...
Sir Sam
lol.
thinking that you know a lot about something, is almost always a sure sign that you dont
if i remember right, that virus sends messages out to everyone that joins your chatroom, with a link to free naked britney spears xxx porn.
when people go there, the website infects them as well, and they do the same thing to other people in irc
update ur virus scan definitions, and do a complete virus scan. then rejoin irc and ask people to test it see if ur still infected
if so, delete ur irc program directory, the whole dir, and reinstall it from the original install .exe's

Use this free, very good virus checker http://www.f-prot.com/download/, download the free dos version and run it from a CD. Norton is the work of the devil, dont use it ...

I will keep my initial responses in my head, because I would like to keep things civil here. I reformat every two months, please don't tell me how to do things. Norton cannot find it, I will try your software. If that doesn't work, I am just going to do a total refrag and rip out some parts and put them in my "non-functioning" computer. Thanks for the tips guys, even though you all said pretty much the same thing....

If u get the none free Norton its very good.... however format is the best option. That norton guard thing crashes pcs like hell tho... go for the latest like i did it works well and blocks email viruses etc.

its really quite simple. removing hardware to 'non-functioning' is quite amusing. fear the network admins of today. firstly get decent virus scanner, norton is good, as is avp. secondly update your virus definitions. If the scan does not find it you have to get nasty.
http://www.itsecurity.com/tecsnews/mar2002/mar83.htm
is a description of the virus u most likely have.
it has detailed removal instructions. basically just dont be silly, dont run files without scanning them or open dcc's. and please, as a network admin, dont move hardware to the 'non-functioning' pile because u have a virus. what do u get paid for fs?

I ran three virus detection programs, norton and f-something included, and they detected nothing. I reformated yesterday, my computer is blank. I am even typing this on a friends computer because I havn't set up my internet connection yet. The problem is fixed... so it seems.
