Prepare for the first 1v1 tournament!
rules:
- fame / karma / kills will be restored
- no mana pots, no scrolls, no rides, no summons, no runic weaps
- bring own equipment, no looting
- format is a round based knockout
- all fights will be under GM supervison in an arena, spectators are permitted
- MOANING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED
to enter, reply to this thread with your character name and account name, and time zone.
entry closes 12pm GMT sunday night, first round of fights starts monday evening

Why aren't you allowed to use mana pots?
no manapots, because they are too useful and too rare, = unfair
also they are expensive, and i dont want the tourny to cost lots to compete in. also they make fights last much longer
magic weapons = yes, tho maybe not vanq's as they dont spawn on monsters, ill have to see....

thats not fair a pvp should be based on ability not the amount of magic wepons somone has. And tbh Id like to see it with real weps. not of force etc.

Maybe the format needs to be changed a lil, like each player gets GM crafted Bronze AR and weapon + 200 bandies regs etc.
So it's based on Skill more than aquired loot, dunno could just be me.

Nah I like bringing own stuff, specially if its nice and shiny stuff, like my solarite armour :D
However, regs, bandages will need to be supplied, as i myself have 2k bandages in the bank :D

Be very specific about the weapon rules, otherwise Ironfire's spear of h4x and those two instakill bardiche's will make it in, as well as piles of shrunken animals...

sign ups are now closed. im going to bed, ill sort the rest out tomorrow.
the results from the tournament will prolly be used to create an inital ranking for a duel ladder im planning as well, eg the winner becomes top ranked on the ladder when it starts, and then other people can challenge them and move up and down the ladder etc...

rofl, I have to laff at all that, you want us to bring out own equipment but were limited to what we use still? That's not a PvP tournament you should let everyone bring whatever they want. aswell as make it lootable, who cares if they bring there uber l33t weapons. the best PvPers should still beable to stand out at the top. but ohwell just had to laff at this ^ ^
Kroninn, sigh. i almost dont wanna dignify that with a response, but i will say this, its a knockout tournament. if u had looting, then the 1 winner would end up with everyone elses best armor and weapons.
its no loot, so that people get a chance to actually use their best equipment instead of just keeping it in bank for fear of loosing it.
no mana pots i've explained, no scrolls because theres only 2 people who can make all the scrolls so it'd be unfair (im one of them)
no runics because they are very rare, and powerful, so its again unfair
right, unfortunatly we have 10 ppl :) this is a bit awkward for the final round as it will be 3-way, so ill do a series of fights like a mini league
anyway, round one is as follows: (pairs are matched up based on order u signed up in, which means i have to fight farthrex in the first round, woo :P )
round 1
fight 1: Spooky v Farthrex
fight 2: Bladorz v Mortious
fight 3: Doctor Evil v Feamer
fight 4: Beast v Ged
fight 5: OblivZ v Dragonheart
round 2
fight 6: winner from fight 1 v fight 2
fight 7: winner from fight 3 v fight 4
fight 8: winner from fight 5 go thro automatically :/ (if there is any late entries, they might fight here)
round 3, the final
winners from fights 6,7,8 each fight each other
fight 9: winner from fight 6 v fight 7
fight 10: winner from fight 6 v fight 8
fight 11: winner from fight 7 v fight 8
if no clear winner, it will be a 3-way melee (fight 12), last man standing wins.
Prizes: (unconfirmed)
1st place = a large statue, named "Winner of the 1st 1v1 tournament" + gold
2nd place = a sash named "2nd place in 1st 1v1 tournament" + gold
3rd place = a sash named "3rd place in 1st 1v1 tournament"
all fights will be in the evening GMT this week, most of you use irc so try and be online tonight for the first round. you will be able to get to the arena using .event
spectators are welcome, but you may be .stoned to reduce lag for competitors
fight starting: you will be allowed to cast spells on yourself and acquire ur target before the round starts, start will be signalled by an explosion potion thrown into the middle
fight ending: when 1 person dies :)
remember, this tournament will be used as the seeding for a dual ladder, if u come 5th u will be placed 5th on the ladder, so every fight is important. also, if its a sucess i will try and make the tournament a monthly thing or summet. so try and cooperate as much as possible please :D
(im still jailed till tonight tho lol, and i wont be gm'ing my fights)

this means fight 5 winner doesnt automatically skip thro round 2

btw, lol at the Team Deathmatch after the 1v1's last night...
white team attacks greens, and crushes them :D
blue team comes in a bit too late, so white has already healed
a couple of whites die, a couple of blues, then shock gets separeted from the rest of the blues and its 3v1, (the 3 is me, will, adam)
we chase shock into a corner, he is casting on me, im trying to cast on him but keep getting fizzled. i wonder what my team is doing, and why im fizzling so much. i get poisoned, and run from shock, stand next to adam to heal. i die, and wonder why...
then i notice, adam had been shooting me. adam starts attacking will, shock kills will, adam kills shock
i was wearing some of the green armor :D so maybe adam thought i was on green or something lol
the last blue, excusior, i think he must have been disconnected for the most of it or something... he goes 1v1 against adam, and wins it for the blue team ;)

thing is the reason why u shud have magic weaps is because uve worked for it, killed monsters etc for it not just havin a row of magic weapons and picking them up

mort, im sorry, but u had 5 days.. and i know u were on a lot but not when most other people where :(
dont worry tho there will be a ladder starting after the tourny so u can participate in that
ladder will run once/twice a week at a fixed time so we dont get any of this same troubles
