Q3f ?

is there any call for a Q3F server ?
i have been asked by aciid in irc to provide a server and he tels me that there is call for it ?
please post and give us some idea :)

Well, it never hurts if you can spare it, but I don't think quake 3 fortress is the best version in the fortress series and there must surely be more unique mods to be put out there? /shrug :)

There was only ever a small Q3F community around here. Snowie and some others were involved. I played it once or twice but it's too complicated for me :confused:

You would be better off with a server for the awesome and extremely popular Urban Terror mod. Check out these servers, I reckon they are busy pretty much all night long:

UT is quite popular on other servers, would be worth a shot.

I've only ever played it once, was a bit dissapointed cos there's no strafing!!! so we didnt get along too well.
But if there was one at WP I'd go get my a$$ owned on it from time to time.

Never played Q3F so I can't comment.
Bout time I started downloading some mods I think.
The only ones I ever play are Defrag and OSP.

UT is the dogs. It's upto beta 2.6 now, I remember beta 1 and this mod has improved sooo much over ther years, they deserve lots of support.

Lol I still remember peeps opinions here about UT when it 1st came out :E

While its a given thing that the "popular/hot" stuff gets a server, I have always believed that support should be giving to other things as well ( within reason ), as without servers to showcase stuff how will they get a chance to be seen or to gain popularity?

With any mod/gametype, while its nice to get a slice of the pie, is the community big enough to go round and is there currently a surplus of good servers already, so you would only be diluting/saturating whats there already?

Is there an angle for example with UT, that WP could offer that the other servers currently do not?
