KOTS updating + q2 admin updates going on at present - servers down this morning - sorry for any inconvenience.

KOTS 2k updated to 121, q2ace updated on all servers.

why does the server keep kicking me now?

I get a few messages such as:

Q2ace 1.21 - Models OK

then it kicks me with an error code of zero... wtf ?

I have version 1.21 installed... and i dont have any executables in my Q2 folder or any of its subfolders.

any ideas? :|

OK... sorted mine out... im now using version 1.20 instead of 1.21 and im getting no lag or kicking problems whatsoever!

First thing I havent been on the servers yet but since th protocals have changed with later versions of q2ace you have to run the latest version of q2admin so it works correctly ( Q2admin 1.31 ).

If they are enforcing Q2ace 1.20 they might as well not, complete and utter waste of time TBH to enforce an old version of q2ace with an old version of Q2admin.

Things are pretty much mot anyway due to various reasons.

Anyway just checked and you are enforcing Q2ace but enforcing Q2ace 1.20 and using Q2admin 1.26.

You should be ENFORCING Q2ace 1.21 and using Q2admin 1.31 or nothing.

And a little tip for you Rcon users to see if Q2ace is enforced and what version is running on a server use the following:

rcon sv !ace_check

rcon sv !ace_version_check

It is set to 1.21 - i used the configs that were supplied to me - hopefully it is just a case of people needing 1.31 q2admin.
People have been on the KOTS server today? I assumed therefore taht this was working. keep me up to date on irc.

me and Foxy have done some checks earlier tonight and all servers are running Q2ace version 1.21. (ignore the MOTD on the servers. They are very wrong :P)

The biggest problem is that if your using old files just with a version number change, some features were added/changed/deleted in later versions PLUS the biggest problem they are using Q2admin 1.26 and not 1.31 as that was changed to work better with later versions of q2ace.

erm pig q2admin is a server side thing clients dont need it

you need to update the server to q2admin 1.31

what name u use in irc cause i can never find you are u in a differant room than #wireplay ?

And a very big thankyou to PW, as the servers are on Q2admin 1.31 now, havent had a chance to go on all the servers but K2K is alot more smoother now as Q2admin isnt lagging you out doing old protocal checking now.
