Good luck getting his attention, I sent him two emails a week ago and both have been ignored.
It's a fair shout. The admins have done well getting WIREPLAY advertising on satellite telly with coverage of the tfc league - how about sorting the servers to make them actually playable, in return?

Yup a lot of work has gone into getting things up and running - and at the end of the day people's jobs are being subsidised so it is something of a smack in the face when Firstnet staff (apparantly) cannot be bothered to even help out the volunteers who do this off their own backs while asking for no reward and have no other motive (besides their love of the game I guess).
Goodwill does not last forever however, so please let's see just a little more effort from the people who's job it is to get this thing running.
PS if the problem is the bosses and their negativity to the project, then send them my way and I will gladly show them what 'real' work is like and how the customer always comes first, no matter what ;)
LSM ive spoke to LW last night about this.... i've got some big boots on today to do some kicking :P

If you cant get intouch with Piggy then it might be easier to email me breath@wireplay.co.uk and I can usually sort it out or go harass piggy to do it :E
Okay mate I will thanks. It is worrying though that the man in charge hasn't even read the forums in a week though.

Nor - not sure which address you emailed to or from but I don't have an email from you and havent received one - which address did you use?
Regarding forums - i do keep an eye on them but i don't read every single thread.
And Lt. Sex Machine, we do appreciate the work everyone does for free - but please note we're doing it for free in our spare time too.
As for not helping anyone out - what does that mean? We've put a lot of effort into getting servers available for people to play on in the first place; we're actually asking people what they want and giving them the chance to set them up as THEY want - not telling them what to do. I'll admit there's problems with routing for some people at the moment and balancing the servers for clan games has proven to be full of problems too but we're trying to sort out issues.
I used the email from the website, also used pigwhistler@wireplay.co.uk and support@wireplay.co.uk
What is your email adress mate ? and maybe you could change the one associated with your WP account because it isn't getting to you.

I'm sorry mate, but in the main forum a thread called Pigwhistler please wasn't answered for a week. Not sure what kind of eye you keep on the forums if you didn't spot that.

While I'm here I may aswell have at go at this aswell. You mean there isn't even one permanent staff for Wireplay ? I remember at the Q&A session a few months back we were led to believe you were going to be working on Wireplay full time, and others would be helping out when they had the time.
Are you saying, you as the most senior person running Wireplay, aren't even doing it as your job ? You are doing it in your spare time ?
Its sad to say but Wireplay is going to die very quickly if thats the kind of dedication Firstnet are showing towards it. Its a shame, cos we were fed a compeltely different 'plan' during the Q&A session.

At present its a case of we do what we can as we do - but we will be moving towards having full time staff when it comes to the relaunch of wireplay. What we are currently doing is moving towards that and as such the current staff are not full time.

OK - I didn't reply to this but andie was pointing me towards another thread which - you'll notice I replied to at 10.29 the next morning.
And apologies - i've gone through my mail and found one from you regarding an abuse complaint which i should have replied to (and am just about to).
This is what you said at the Q&A in february though
[18:23:25] <pigwhistler> well i will be more or less full time. I know you won't have full time people around which is a bind - i wish it could be different - but as a business, as unem points out, there has to be an income to support staff's salaries
and the truth of it is you are not full time, or even more or less full time, but doing it all in your spare time. You cannot run a GSP like that as you no doubt know and I'm not really getting at you because it won't be your decision. I'm just pointing out the obvious really, that successful GSPs can't be run like that and also that the promises that were made to us (and you I guess) nearly 4 months ago have kind of evaporated into thin air.
Don't you worry Nor, we will accept any offers of you funding staff for a service which at the time of purchase was in a state of disrepair, rapidly draining money and resources.
In all fairness Wireplay should have vanished before Christmas if it wasn't for Unem, Razz and Haitch trying to keep things working.
Pigwhistler and Qube have both put a tremendous amount of work into Wireplay, and we have seen excellent results from what we have to work with.
The simple fact of the matter is FirstNet is not prepared to pour staff into Wireplay in it's current state. This will no doubt change, but until then it would be nice if you quit the critisim, or at the very least made it constructive.

Okay, well firstly I don't think it helps if you decend into childish mode. I think you do a very good job over at CS but to be so quick to jump into childish mode doesn't seem too grand.
I was just taken aback at the comment that Wireplay has no permanent staff and they all do it in their spare time considering we were told they would have at least one permanent staff member at the Q&A and were never told that this had changed.
I am not really of the ilk who likes to heap praise on people for their efforts when they are earning a wage. I think the volunteers are great for all the work they put in. But to tell me I should somehow just support Firstnet because they are really trying etc is just nonsense. The company who took over Wireplays name were going to have to earn our respect and trust not just get praised heaped upon them because they are now in charge.
Its that kind of attitude which leads to the usual sycophantic behaviour of loving them to bits while they're at the reins then hating them as soon as they pass the baton. I didn't critisise because its fun and Pigwhistler is an easy target, I did it because I like Wireplay (whats left of the name) and I would like to see it do well. To heap praise unconditionally does no-one any good.
I'm quite prepared to give Firstnet time to get things working, Rome wasn't built in a day afterall. I guess I was just a little annoyed at my emails not being read in over 3 weeks, and then to be told 'we're doing this in our spare time' as if thats some sort of get out clause. I have no problem with Pigwhistler, I'm sure hes putting as much as he can into Wireplay. What annoys me is being told Firstnet are going to have staff working on it fulltime and then this turns out not to be the case. Thats why I posted, don't think I was unreasonable.
I can't remember a full timer being announced in the Q&A, but maybe it was. Unfortuently it's not the case.
I don't think anybody likes how FirstNet are handling Wireplay, but I think we should at least give them a chance.
