Wee bit of help please

Got loads of pop-ups appearing when I use my pc and not to sure why, but I was hoping someone could direct me to a decent pop-up killer, i've been looking round, used google etc but nothing solid. would like a program that others have used :)

sounds like you've picked up some spyware
a pop up remover may stop the popups but wont actually fix the problem

best bet is to check what programs are being loaded on startup, i guess your using XP, as I've only had xp 3 days myself i cant tell u where to look for em.

but if your on 98 its: start/programs/accesories/system tools/system information/tool/system configuration utility/startup

and just uncheck the dodgy looking ones e.g. pr0n_popup.exe :)

If any of the popups are using the Messenger service, go to run, then msconfig, services tab and uncheck "Messenger".
