Swear filter idea.

Its been mentioned before but this could be a good opportunity to add an option in the user cp to allow the filter to be on or off. Default to on so those who don't mind 'norty' words being used can switch it off. Like me for instance.

Can go some way to silencing this arguement for good.

Yeah... that's a good idea... but then it might as well be turned off.

Lets say we have our 12 year old fragger who's parents didn't understand the 15+ ELSPA rating or whatever. They sign up and are exposed to all these swear words, or not by default... but ah ha, uncheck more swear words.

A toggable swear filter isn't any point tbh.

"Yeah, but they see swear words on the servers etc, does it matter!?"

We shouldn't be promoting it to young minds.

afaik the swear filter can be globally on or off... ive not seen any options to allow it to be on or off on a per user basis

You'd think after all this time that some bod over at vBulletin would actually think of a per user option.
