Can't you just list the prices here?

I would imagine if anyone will rent a WP server, the price will need to reflect the performance - fairly cheap. Not being mean or anything, just being honest.

you paying us to use them? this some kind of april fools joke?

You are trying to sell them on the basis that wireplay has been around for ages? i think performance may be the main reason people will buy

The basis of this thread is to 'test the water' if you like to see what sort of interest there would be for people wanting clan servers.

The 2 ip's listed are on a high performance server hence the offer to test them before enquiring about further information.

Ronaldo is right on the fact that we have to be competitively priced to refect the performance, which is why I haven't released the prices on here yet.

but i thought the problem was network rather than server specs? I dont know about this stuff but isnt the networking the same be it clan server or publics?

Your going to have to quote a bit more info about what your offering before peeps will consider looking into it, as it isnt just about the cost of it only.

Foxy this thread is to see what sort of interest there is. For more detailed info people need to email me so I can arrange a quote and info that is done to suit what they require.

As much as i'd possibly like to rent a Wireplay Clan server to inject the money into Wireplay, they are of very little use whatever the price if clans simply would refuse to play my own clan on it because a high percentage of them are going to have connection problems. Sure the servers are slightly better, but the network they're on still hold them back from unlocking their true potential, same as the Wireplay Public/league servers.

I thought the ip was - 212.103.248.130:27015 for the CS server ?

So you cant even quote a couple of basic packages as broad examples of the type of things or basic features you could offer?

Stevep - Sums it up basically.

Here is a lose example, but please note this is not definate, and as most of our rental will be custom for the client prices will vary.

For a shared Counter-Strike server, with full FTP access, restart scripts and no limit on what mods etc you put onto your server. With a 16 man limit on the server you will be looking at around £70.

And yes, unlike the public servers these will be running on high-end servers. The public servers will be upgraded when we generate enough income to replace them.

I dont think many people will be willing to rent clan servers when the only evidence they have of wireplays performance is the current publics - which although I dont use very often, I've seen other peoples reports.

I also think the "longest running online gaming comunity in europe" quote is a bit wrong - this isn't the same wireplay that was once the best gsp in europe, that one died quite a while ago. What we currently have is various companies latching onto the name, failing to bring it back to life (arenatek, not firstnet :)), giving up and letting someone else take over.

gluck with it though :)

Some very good points there StarMonkey. I've seen a couple of reports about Wireplay in relation to other GSP's. Do you have any links to others we could have a look at?

The comments about people hesitating to buy servers due to the performance of the publics is repeated several times in this thread, and I will be pointing this out to the powers that be at Firstnet.

I am hoping to have more information on the new services Wireplay are going to be offering very soon.

/me gets a pointy stick and goes to pester people at FN

to be perfectly honest, I don't see a 100Mbit line as fast enough

Our connection is a bit better than a 100Mbit line FiRe :P

although a personal 100Mbit line would be very useful :E
