Taken more or less verbatim from Paddyboys mailer to the crowd:

We’ve just announced the dates for the next Hallowed Ground LAN event: Friday the 17th to Sunday the 19th of October. Unbelievably, this is going to be our 16th event to date! The location is our normal venue, Queen Mary’s University, Mile End and is limited to 26 places, so get booking now! Expect a superfast gigabit network, with dedicated servers for the most popular games. Sponsorship has yet to be confirmed, but we don’t expect EA/Microsoft to let us down – watch this space for confirmation as soon as we have it.

We honestly expect this LAN to be one of our best events ever (they are all great mind you!) with a huge amount of new game releases just before the LAN, you’ll have difficulty fitting it all in! If release dates hold, we should have Half Life 2, Breed, Halo, Jedi Academy, BF1942: Secret Weapons, Judge Dredd, UFO Aftermath, Greyhawk, Tron 2, C&C General: Zero Hour, Homeworld 2, Warhammer 40k: Firewarrior and more! Its been a bit dry and stale on the PC gaming scene in the past 6 months or so, but that lot should really stir things up. HGXVI is going to be a cracker and you don’t want to miss it!

Don’t forget to check out our webby (www.hglan.co.uk) and forums for news and gossip and you can normally catch some of us on IRC: #hglan on Quakenet.

All the best

Up we go

Just a couple of weeks to go now.

Shame about Half Life 2 but there you go....

Oh and Microsoft are sponsering the event. Jim hasn't confirmed what they've sent us yet but expect some nice hardware (Mouses?) and a couple of their more recent games... just not Halo
