Zero Hour.... Anybody think it's worth it?

I see it's only about 17 quid, which could entice me to play it and keep me busy whilst HL2 is inevitably delayed ;(

I wouldn't mind knowing too, I was eyeing that up on Gameplay earlier.

So far HL2 seems to be on target for the 30th, fingers crossed.

Zero hour was good fun to play but a little short i think. There is around 5 missions per team. So far since Saturday ive completed the USA and China missions. I've enjoyed the USA missions more cos of the variety.

Gotta say laser paladins, microwave tanks and helex helicopters are bloody great!

I bought Zero hour on Friday. It's a lot harder than the original, the levels take longer though there are disappointingly few.

I've so far completed the US missions. I only hesitate to reccomend it to C&C fans owing to how short it appears it will be.

I'm liking Zero Hour lots.
Yeah there's only 5 new missions for each side but like has been said, they're more challenging than before.

Plus theres all the new units and other changes, and also you have the Generals Challenge mode which is like a little campaign in itself which you can play from 9 different angles.

Also you can use the specialist Generals in online play which should make things more interesting (Chinese Nuke General for me! Although the US Laser General is also good).

So overall I think it's well worth the 17 quid. :E

Well my faves from all sides are Laser (US), Nuke (China) and Stealth (GLA). :E

USA super weapons general gets pwned by stealth GLA as i found out yesterday...... think i'll use China nuke general instead... that'll show em :E

Nuke general has almost no weaknesses apparantly...

The amount his upgrades cost, are apparantly, his only weakness aside from the normal China weaknesses.

Super weapon general gets pwned by anyone... :) Especially me! :E

I'm stuck on the second last China mission on the SP game. f00kin' 'ard.

2nd to last? is that the one where your getting battered from all 4 sides?

That's the one before it. This one is where you have a public rating which drops quickly and you have to destroy statues to keep it up (matron).

I just don't seem to be able to progress across the map fast enough, entire platoons of tanks get massacred by scuds and the like. It's the hardest level so far (for me anyway) :|

Hummmm, I been playing alot more recently, Completed USA missions on Medium and realised that it is more fun, but hella difficult to play gLA guys than other sides.

I rushed the squad of tanks u get at the start and took out all the little statues... whilst i did that i took over what was left of a US base in the bottom right corner of the map and built loads of humvee's n troops to take over every oil rig, repair shop and weapons platform en route to the big statue at the top of the map.

Then i built an uber large squad of tanks in the china base and pushed them up from the south entrance of the gla base and smashed the crap out of it.

You'd certainly bash the poo out of me, I've never played anything other than first person shooters against other human opponents :)

*warning, China level 4 spoiler below*
I managed to get past that statue level (level 3 China), was rather easy in the end, dunno what I was doing first time round. The level after was easy having realised how powerful Helix helicopters are from level 2 :D They rock :E I just built dozens of 'em.

Final level here we go...
