Fortunately I was saved by the fact you need to register to download from Codemasters :D

Okay it's done. The time for shame is over (or just beginning, depending on how you look at it) so here's my overall rating:
I actually quite liked it. Don't get me wrong, I won't buy it or anything, but in a mindless kind of way, I enjoyed it.
It's a lot more interesting than most pop tie ins, like the Big Brother games, and although I question it's longeivety I actually enjoyed it, and may play the demo again.
So, how does it work?
Well, it's like those dance machines you get. You have to hit the corresponding buttons when required, or hold them down depending on the instructions. If you miss, your singer will comically mis the note they're aiming for and the judges let you know you're ****e.
The graphics are cartoony and work very well.
So not a bad TV tie in, at least it's quite inventive. I suggest others try it out - it's better than the show. ;)
Not to mention the ****e that fills the charts thanks to the show.
And not my final ounce of dignity is gone.

lol
I'm damn curious.. I think I'll have to give it a whirl :)
I've just tried it and was surprised by how well put together it is. The cell shaded characters (like XIII) are the right kind of style for the target audience, and the choice of music is what you'd expect. Ultimately the only thing you need to play the game is the cursor keys, and you simply have to press them at the right time, that's all there is to it. I suspect that it offers enough to the type of person who would play this game as let's face it, anyone who actually buys this is not going to be a hardcore gamer.
The game seems quite polished at what it does, but what it does is not very much ;)

pixeh did u find the the britney song in the 2nd round of the competition mode was actually quite difficult!?
Pixie Pete
13-11-2003, 12:25
Yes, it was bloody hard.
I hate those ones where you have loads of different moves coming from all angles. :|
Check out the party play mode by the way - I pwned my girlfriend on the vote :E
hehe aye i did, played that first with me g/f ! completly wiped the floor with her
then thought it might be better to take it turns in the comp mode, she only got past auditions once :P

Did you find Simon Cowell was far too complimentry. He's supposed to be the evil one, but was the only one who has never given me a negative vote... :(

The irony is, he's the only one of the judges who is actually backing the game, so the designers probably tried to give him a positive "Mr Good Guy!" image. Seems slightly ironic to me....
yeh PP, know exactly wot u mean! He never seemd to give u a harsh vote
mebbe liquid is right :P
