Just a warning that someone is at it again.
This time I got a message from 'Q'_ trying to convince me that someone else had used my password so I should change it. Of course, it suggested I message 'Q'_ my new password.

As well as the incorrectly formatted Q name, the other clue was that any message to Q should be sent to the full address Q@CServe.quakenet.org.

Spoke to an IRCOp and they have blocked the fake Q name, but thought it worth putting another reminder in here for peeps to take care when receiving these apparent Q messages.

(If I was at home I could paste the original message in).

aye, NEVER send your password to ANYONE except Q@Cserve.quakenet.org - as it says in the 'connect' msg.

I still can't understand what's so good about getting someone's Q Password just so they can get Ops in the Channels they have the Op Flag in. It just seems so lame that they get a kick, and probably an orgasm, out of doing it.

I'm also betting they try and takeover every damned Channel that the person has Ops in, therefore being even more Lame and having another, even bigger, orgasm.

Lame-asses. Get a life, you pathetic morons. Go outside. YES THE REAL WORLD. WHERE REAL PEOPLE ARE. Idiots. :|

I'm quite sure that normal people who, like me, don't see the point in all of it will agree.

erm... okay...

/me backs away

Seriously though...
No different to why people write a virus that just annoys everyone by spaming messages all other the place. Some people (geek types) just get a buzz out of knowing they found a way to do something they shouldn't.
