Anti Cheats

What will be done to stop cheating during matches? Or will we be using the defult Punkbuster? or will we be using a 3'rd part cient like CDC, which TWL use

Majors Pain & Satdx and myself will be traveling to Leeds this weekend to have one to one talks with the big bosses. The three of us agree 100 percent that CDC should not be used as it is soooo tempramental and slows your pc's down slightly. We will be reccomending that the default Punkbuster is to be used. Cheaters can be spotted a mile away and if any individual or whole clan is seen to be cheating they will simply loose the match the very moment they are found out, no if's or buts! They will then be named and shamed in our board of cheaters!!

Well it's still possible for dedicated hackers to get through punkbuster :( which is always a shame. However PB seems to be on the up, let's just hope they continue to work hard on eliminating cheaters/hackers

dedicated hackers will get through everything in the end.
PB catches most of the prats that cheat.
so im happy with that .
and admins will catch a very good ammount of the others
every cheater slips up in the end.

Found this on the Team AMD site guys and makes interesting reading....

Its been a long hard fought battle between EvilHack and the anti-cheating community with the Hackers supported by their fans and pride and the punkbuster supported by its fans, pride, and no dout MONEY! New versions of Evil Hack would come up and punk buster would find it out and patch it. Eventually Punk Buster detected how the hack hooked into the game and made it even harder for hackers, requireing them to find new methods of hooking. EvilBert, creator of the Evil Hack, was determined until the threats started comming. Threats from goody goods and other people started pouring in which caused EvilBert to abandon the project. This left AA cheatless for a while. Now, there is a group called T3chn0m4g3 and some other hacking group that has found new ways to hook the game.

like i said there will allways be someone cheating someone that is determend enough.
the cheat will allways be found and stoped and the cycle will once again start.

Some of you may have not seen it or heard of it but sometimes I have been playing and Solo will back me up on this one, I have witnessed players been there one minute then gone the next ! They literally dissapeard ! Now I cant confirm this is an actual cheat or maybe a terrible lag problem but if anyone else has seen this or something to that effect please post and let me kow :) HOAH )

Talking of weird...I shot a missile from my launcher the other day in sf hospital. The missile fired, left the end of the rocket launcher then actually froze in mid air. I was able to actually look at the missile quite happily hanging in the air from its side, then whoooosh off it went. That was so funny to see.!!!!

LOL mine got stuck in the car in front of escort i think 06 got a screenie of it gonna c when im at home and put it on.

i think i dont suck just hate when it goes of course then your f'ed up as it can tk or just be dud crap but i am good with it heres a tip try crouching then keep still for about 5 seconds then fire hooah

We've been seeing quite a bit of this problem, since version 2.0 came out. It's a video bug, and it has been reported to the DEV's and the Beta testers. Hopefully, the problem will be resolved in time for the next version.

i have had that problem, the one where u see someone then they dis-appear. At first i thought this was just some bunch of idiots who where hacking and cheating till it happened to me in SF pipline....story goes: i was on defence and headed to the west entrace, from there i open the door and began to run straight. from then on i was able to run like 5x the normal speed that you normally could. i thought this was just happening cos the server crashed or my computer crashed or my enternet went offline. so there i am running faster than ever and went round the corner and shot about 5 of assault guys without them being able to hit me cos i was running so fast. once i shot them all, 2-seconds later i ended up back at the door of the west entrace where the hole 5x speed thingy started..and from there it went back to normall. i was kicked after that mini-round...accused of hacking.:frown:

so yes, i also think its a bug/lag and i hope that when 2.1 which is due to come out in april will have solved this problem which makes people who dont cheat stop looking like they are cheating!

i hope that any dev who has read this could report it and make sure it really will be stoped when the next version comes out!! period!

ye i know what you mean the servers are have speed up and slow down sections ie you running fast and me throwing a nade then the sever lags and bomb the other guy never got rid of his nade and kill us both that was next to me the actions were as like my nade was stuck to my hand lol for about 10 seconds wtf

BTW, I look forward to our match on Saturday John. It looks like it's going to be a good one. HQ Raid can be a challenging map, but the sheer speed of the action on that particular map, should make it a fun time. Good luck. :)

Heya yea 9:30 EST on saturday is late for us euro players, what time is it work out at................................... 2:30 Am on sunday morning it us for us, well if i'm back from my party, which I doubt it. Then I would play. Gl for the game though mate

PB does it's job, albeit, not always as smooth as it should. It's really a community fueled tool. Without some concerned gamers leaking private hack builds, PB would be as successful as it is. And even then, there are still lots of private hack builds that don't get reported because the cheaters are getting smarter, and not spreading the word about their own individual hacks. We can't expect cheating to be wiped out 100%, but what we can do, is strive to cut it down, and make it harder for new cheaters to sprout up, thus probably forcing them to move onto other games to plague with their disease.

Thank you bud. All we can do as gamers, is stay true to the game, and remember to keep it fun. Nothing wrong with being competitive, but as long as the game is fun, it's popularity will spread.
