July 2004 will see the launch of the country's newest large multiplayer local area network (LAN) computer gaming event, Adrenalan. Adrenalan website
So, we hear you ask, what will this new event involve? Adrenalan will offer hundreds of game-players a huge gaming arena, together with a super-fast switched network (supplied by smc-europe.com) and dedicated game servers to provide the fastest gaming structure possible.
The conveniently central venue, located near Leamington Spa in Warwickshire, has loads to offer. As well as having a giant single gaming arena, with the capacity to hold over 1000 participants and their PCs, the venue also boasts a unique raised gallery-style seated bar area, an indoor sleeping area, a 3.5 acre campsite and shower facilities. Car parking space for up to 2000 cars is also available.
Although we've got the capacity for over 1000 people in our gaming arena, we're planning on keeping our July 2004 event a bit smaller and more intimate and are particularly hoping that this will attract some gamers out there who have might not have attended a LAN before, but fancy giving it a go. Just bring your equipment, a tent and the expectation of a great weekend's gaming, and we'll provide everything else. We're even giving you the opportunity to order your food direct from your PC at the event – what more could you want?!
For you serious gamers out there, there will be prize-winning tournaments and the chance to show off your gaming prowess. Come along either on your own or with a clan and show us what you're made of! That said, Adrenalan won't all be about serious gaming and prize-winning tournaments (although we assure you, there will be plenty of both of those!). There will be loads going on besides, like a great summer barbeque, some off-road R/C car racing (bring your own radio-controlled cars, folks!), and plenty of socialising in the bar. So, if you're at all worried about coming along on your own, don't be - you'll have tons of opportunities to make new friends.
Because what we at Adrenalan are hoping to do is to put the geeky image of computer gaming to bed and build a tight-knit community, a large group of friends that gets together several times a year for great gaming, socialising and fun. So come and join us. Whether you're an amateur or a pro, a regular at LANs or someone that's never attended one before, a clan-member or sole player, we want you!
