The University of Essex Multiplayer Gaming Society is proud to present "The Underground LAN". This is the first event of it's kind at the university and the biggest event ever organised by MGS, boasting a capacity of 175 people. The venue is "The Underground", underneath the university which is based in Colchester, a few miles off the A12. The venue is normally used as a night club, with a capacity of 1000 people.
There will be tournaments for various games from most genres with great prizes up for grabs! As well as serious gaming you'll have the opportunity to socialise and meet new faces. The main SU bar is less than a minute's walk away and serves food as well as a good university pint.
Within your 5-day stay you will have the chance to explore the university's "200 acres of attractive parkland", on which there is a variety of places to eat and drink. For those who can't be doing with the fresh air and exercise, there will no doubt be regular takeaway orders to suit all tastes.
The event is open to all members of the university as well as students from other universities and the general public.
