Nobodys perfect, and often even after checking my work I can miss errors in spelling and grammar. This often happens more when i've been working late into the night and my brain starts to slow down :P

If you spot any errors in dialouges or descriptions, etc, this is the thread in which to report them.

Okay... first off, please don't get me wrong if/when I start making regular postings like this one. I'm currently a complete newbie to the server, true, and I'm also a pedant of astounding proportions, true.

When I play a good module I like to read and take in all the flavour text I possibly can, but I find typos, misspellings and errors of grammar niggling; if there are too many, it greatly spoils my enjoyment of a module. I'm assuming there are other people like me around, and with this in mind, I'm going to report the typos I find in hopes of helping (in this small way) to bring a superb module even closer to perfect.

Enough pontificating, now the list :)

PLAYER START AREA

Newbie gem, "This is Untold Tales of Tolkien": examine text
- "sparing contests" should read "sparring contests".

Emote wand: examine text
- "sellf" should read "self".

Campfire kit: examine text
- "asorted" should read "assorted".

Newbie gem, "Attention: Character Development": examine text
- "we can not alter character bios" -> "we cannot alter character bios"
- "ammended" -> "amended"
- "recieved" -> "received"
- "thats what it's there for" -> "that's what it's there for"

Newbie gem, "Scheduled Social Events": examine text
- again, "sparing" should read "sparring".

PRANCING PONY INN

Journal Update: "About Untold Tales"
- "DEFINATELY" -> "DEFINITELY"

Pony Watchman Haster: dialogue
- ask about stores; "if your after magic items.." -> "if you're after magic items.."

That's all I've got so far. Hope I'm not being too much trouble.

PRANCING PONY INN

Pony Watchman Haster: dialogue
- ask about stores; "odd ball" -> "oddball"

Barliman Butterbur: dialogue
- "How can I be Of Assistance" -> "How can I be of assistance"
- Ask to tell about Bree: "The majority of it's population are men" -> "the majority of its population are men"

Dialogue option: "...other than accomodation" -> "...other than accommodation"

Ramsay Gordon, Pony cook: dialogue
(second time you speak to him if quest not taken) "i've better things.." -> "I've better things.."
(ask him what's wrong) "im missing a vital..." -> "I'm missing a vital..."; "i'll turn that..." -> "I'll turn that..."
(offer to help) "that'll sove my..." -> "that'll solve my..."

ITEM DESCRIPTIONS

Ranger's Greaves: examine
"resillient" -> "resilient"

Longbottom Tea: examine
"its" -> "it's"; "thats" -> "that's"

Gathering Dark spirits: examine
"spicey" -> "spicy"

Spirits of Carrock: examine
"spirrits" -> "spirits"

Old Fumblebottom Brew: examine
"Roumour has it" -> "Rumour has it"

Book: Races - The Lossoth: examine

Book: People - Rangers of the North: examine

Full and mixed liquor cabinets in kitchen: examine
"thirst adventurer" -> "thirsty adventurer"

Also, various items from the original campaign contain references to Faerun, places in Faerun, the Plane of Fire, etc, in their descriptions. Not a big issue, since nobody reads those things anyway, but bit of a lack of foresight on Bioware's part I'd say :)

Yeah. The PCT thread is all about Player Content...

It was largely responsible for replacing the Forgotten Realms stuff with MERP 'tolkienised' versions... A lot of work has already been done by several players including myself.

If you find something that needs a new description have a go and post it in the PCT Items thread. Look at the stuff thats already been adjusted (its pretty obvious in most cases from names, themes and descriptions) and do something similar. :) If you dont want to write anything yourself, tell the PCT what it is and why it needs doing... Many of the unaltered Bioware items are effectively superfluous in this mod but just in case... eh

Most of the basic ones have been done already. Those that still crop up from time to time are no more than an oversight and mostly have Middle Earth equivalents in the game as well. It is worthwhile mentioning where these FR items crop up so that Kev can fix the treasure spawns to use our items.

The particular items I spotted problems for were the Aventurine gem (mentions witches of Rashemen), the Cure Light Wounds potion (used widely throughout Faerun, apparently), and another gem, I think the Fire Opal (some thought them to be portals to the Plane of Fire). I'm going to bed, so I don't have time to post alternative descriptions, but next time I find something I'll give it a bash :)
