Alegard the smith was "too busy to talk" the other day when i tried to browse his store - well thats his business down the pan. Odd one that. I was the only one there (as far as i could tell) and the smith wasnt involved in any sort of active animation. He simply wasnt responding to a talk action. Never seen it happen before except whe the character is actively involved in dialogue. But his doesnt go on that long, even if an invisible person has a lot to say. :)

The Rohan soldier that wants his scabbard back from the goblins, is missing (presumed dead)

The Rohan mercgant that buys the cat hides is missing (presumed dead)

Similarly I am informed that the Druid and the magic shop merchant in Rivendell are also AWOL.

I hope someone aint runnin around killing off the NPCs fro the hell of it. :furious: I wondered about that yesterday as there had certainly been someone running through and letting all the critters roam loose. I spent some time tidying up for the servers sake. And the elf that gives the frost giants/caradhras white dragon quest was being attacked by goblins. A couple of days previous to this in the white mountains, the goblins were also aroaming. As were the orcs, Ice Trolls and eventually Ogretown folk when an elvish guy in robes ran in then shortly out again pursued by a bunch of them. :P

If I had been on with a low-level character I would have had to vacate the area sharpish or have been toast, fortunately I was again able to mop up someone elses stragglers.

Looked a bit like a case of someone nipping through to get the bosses again. Been a while since that last happened. Ho Hum.

In all likelyhood all of this will go away with a reset of the server. This is probably a superfluous thread. Feel free to delete or remame as appropriate. :)

If they are genuine bugs with NPCs, feel free to post them. The above are just cases of people messing about I guess. Pray they are not caught as slappings will be given in due course :)

These are not bugs as these NPCs are plot and cannot be killed.

Alegard normally works. Some game bug has occured where the store remains 'jammed open'. Very rare and nowt I can do about it.

The other NPCs who dissapeared is a case of some idiot who has fallen victim to the 'slapping' culture and the npc's chased him/her in due course.

(The slapping culture is basically PC's who have this urge to bash every single object they go near...don't ask me why...it must be something genetically inherited from real life..)

Never seen the open jam shop. Where is it?

(Maybe the server could use a reset?)

In the Houses of Healing in Minas Tirith there are a couple of wounded soldiers. When you heal them they get up and thank you but then nothing else happens. Dont know it the dialogues are bugged or if they are simply left incomplete for now.

I figured that the encounter had been left half done bacause it was no more than a bit of dressing. Maybe a small alignment shift to good would be appropriate, a small XP award, or a continuation of the dialogue. They could have a snippet or two of info that no one else can give, an easter egg of sorts seeing as no one encourages you to heal them, you choose to do so off your own bat.

Perhaps an offer of a quest seeing as you are such a kind person maybe you would help them further. Maybe it has some bearing in how they came to be injured. Perhaps in UUT2 it would reflect in a small way on your reputation in the white city.

you do get 40 exp for each one you heal and a alignment shift

do you? :)

I didnt restore them to full health if thats what it takes, my character only had a couple of heal packs at his disposal. I thought that that would be an act of kindness, to get the fellas on their feet. I used a couple of packs and they were still at Near Death. They must be high level. Ah well

The nice lady at the Tharbad market who sellls dyes is so nice that she PAYS more for a 1-dose dye than she sells a full-dosed dye for. Confirmed on cloth, leather and metal.

I caught a bad tempered guard attacking the gates he's supposed to be defending in Rivendell yesterday......maybe he's just having a bad day at the office.

I did put some *light crystals* that where for sale in Bree on my rangers armor and 2 swords - but they raised the lvl I needed for using it so the moment I swaped the swords for my beloved longbow I could not reequip them. Same with my armor - I can keep it but the moment I unequip it its out of range for my current lvl (and I am 4000 pts away from the next one...)

Apart from myself unable to use the 2+ swords I bought recently :( and asking for assistance therefore (as I am not able to remove the crystals) I think people should be told at purchase that these crystals raise the lvl requirement by 1.....

Ouch thats harsh, it happened to one of my characters, and as you say you always get caught it at the worst possible time.

Any chance a GM can solve this problem in-game for me in removing at least ONE of the crystals?

I am asking here before I steal somones time ingame as I got no problems getting back to bree and buy another weapon and shield (time to try something new maybe) - just not TWO +2 swords (which I bought in Tharbad) ;)

Just been told by a player that Lagnar is not finishing of the quest when he is offerd the mithril bars (I think thats it... never done the quest me self). Apparently he gives the xp and gold out but doesnt take the bars.... then the player can take the quest again and thus continue accumulating xp and gold. Please can this be checked out as some players will abuse this if true.

The problem with the guards attacking the doors is based on the npc AI, dependant on their intelligence, I think it is, they have a check to see whether they are smart enough to open the door, if they are, obviously they will open the door, if they are not, they will begin to bash the door with everything they have. Also, because the doors are plot, they are generally there for a long time.
