As of this Wednesday coming (20th October), I will be away for at least 2 weeks, possibly more.
Some of you are already aware of this and the fact that I have a medical condition which requires surgery to 'cure' my problem. I will be admitted into hospital on the Wednesday and will have the operation the following day. I will then be staying in the hospital for (I have been told) at the minimum, 2 weeks, but I am to expect longer as im apparently a bit of a tough case :P. So lets call it 2/3 weeks.
As you can expect, I have no intention of dropping this great community which is destined for great things come the new year with UTT2 well in the works as I type this. I am making arrangements for the management of the community to continue in my absence and for development work to continue whilst im away.
As of Wednesday, Avalyn will be in complete control of MERP UK for the duration of my absence. Please direct any major queries and ideas, etc to him and he will make decisions/make note of them for later. He will bring me up to speed on things once im back. I do ask that you be patient with Avalyn and any other MERP UK staff whilst im away; I have been fortunate to have a lot of spare time for the community, but they may not have as much time to spare as I have. Much of their time is already consumed producing great work and ideas for UTT2 :)
On my return, I really have no idea how i'll be, but I sure hope to get back into the swing of things on the run up to the new year to get UTT2 up and running. I've been told its going to be 4 months at home to fully recover from the operation being waited on hand and foot by people...so I guess I can recover in front of this computer and do what I enjoy most; working on all this :)
A few things which will hopefully happen whilst im away:
- CEP 1.5 and server patching to 1.64
- The server upgrade! New server installed and current server to be kept so we have 2 servers!
- A large chunk of the MERP UK PRC will be completed. More juicy details to come from Avalyn.
Well thats enough from me for now. I will be posting in here again just before I go. Thankyou to all those who have already offered words of support, it's been a great help to me. And also thankyou to everyone who has supported and participated in the community, wherever your from or however long you've been here, thankyou. Im already looking forward to getting out of hospital and feeling better and bringing you your dream Middle Earth gameworld :)
