using res scrol

Hi,

I'm playing a Wizard(17)/rogue(4) character, Frain Hairylobes.

The character has 24 points in use magic device but still cant use that res scroll.

Is this because he started off as a wizard, a bug, or part of the world design.

I'm not too fussed about not being able to use the scrolls but would like an answer to the reason why.

When you went wizard did you specalise in any school thereby ruling out any others?

If you did Res belongs to one of the schools and if thats the school you ruled out for your characetr you will never be able to use it. Unforunately I can't remember which school it is, it may be Necromancy.

Yes...that makes sense, I did specialise.... in evocation. The counter school to this is conjuration... and guess what.. raise dead is a conjuration spell.
