I can't seem to install the haks or new patch...

Greetings,

I am kinda new to MERP and I am having some problems installing the new hak. I saved it under my nwn file in my hard drive and then I tried to install it but that didn't work. Then I tried to copy the hak and tlk files into my nwn tlk and hak files then opened them and tried to install them and that didn't work. I have the CEP 1.50 installed and everything, but i see whats the matter. FYI i have windows XP and all that stuff but i don't know whats the reason i can't install the haks. I even tried to install a better unzip program and that didn't work....so someone, anyone, plz help me... i haven't got a clue on what to do.

All you need to do is download, unzip, then place the .tlk file into your tlk folder, and the .hak file into your hak folder - you won't see anything new until you start levelling ingame, nothing will show on character creation.

mmm, yep I am trying again in case something corrupted the file during DL, but i am having trouble with the install of the .tlk file.
However, there are many many contented players exploring Middle earth as we type so its undoubtedly my end, hopefully second time lucky, or I am reformatting the whole thing.
Actually congratulations to all, the transition (even though I havent played there yet) to TT2 seems to have been an incredibly smooth one, with very little problems for the players . Well done! be there soon!.... I hope.

nope me to, have Dl'd it again,
I unzipped it, placed the tlk file in the tlk folder. and no go.
-should i delete the existing cep.tlk file?
-the file gamespy tells me i need is merpcep.tlk but the file is in uppercase when DL'd (MERPcep.tlk) does that matter? (i changed the case and renamed it but that didnt help?
-Do I need to reboot perhaps?
-I think the other part must have worked because it was giving me a different error before i downloaded the hak.
-I am running V 1.64 NWN
-please any advice?
-are we the only ones that this has happened to or are there more? (it would seem fairly uncommon)?

shouldnt matter about lowercase now, new version is lowercase.

okay im new on this too i used a zip and added the files to the correct places but i carnt logg on to merp i have the new nwn patch what should i do?
(says cclient and server versions do not match????????)

make sure you have the latest CEP 1.5
and patch NWN up to version 1.64.

DO NOT PATCH NWN UP TO 1.65!

i have 1.65 does that mean i carnt play on merp now? is there a way i can uninstall the update?

search at the bioware website, they always make a "downgrade" patch when they make a new patch. Incase the patch should cause trouble ect.
