I´m not sure if there´s any post for this already, in that case I apologies. But I couldn´t find any appropriate place for it.

This is a small story about a hobbit called Illmish Blackroot.
I guess I´ll probably miss out on many things in this part. But I just thought to scribble it down while I still had it kinda fresh in mind.

"The trees were in full bloom and a warm breeze filled the air with the smell of newly baked bread as Illmish walked through his small garden".

His home was a small building, but there were a cosy and warm air about it. (as were most homes in the area).
Illmish, the only son of the Blackroot family sat down into his fathers old chair and closed his eyes..
Fond memories of his early days playing and fishing with his father were not far away and he let himself sink away deep into them as he sat there.

His beloved mother Soido had died due to a nasty infection when Illmish was very little and the loss of his mother was a terrible blow to himself and his father. Thus he was raised by his father Fedrik until he also was swept out of Illmish´s life just two years ago.. Eventually he fell asleep, dreaming of the days when life was easy and he had not a care in this world.

Illmish woke up as the sun made it´s way up once again and ate a steady breakfast, then he walked outside to greet the new day.
He walked up a small hill at the back of his house and sat down at his favorite spot looking out over the place he called home, Michel Delving.

His thoughts drifted off to imagine what the world beyond his home would look like?
Illmish had thought of leaving Michel Delving on numerous occasions, but he had never worked up the courage to actually do it. This day felt...different somehow.
He no longer had any family members to help and care for, except a distant cousin which he only had met a few times the past ten years or so.

Illmish mumbled to himself to be more courageous, (which wasn´t so easy when all things either were stronger or taller than a small hobbit).
As he sat there, the day drifted towards noon and he both felt and heard his belly rumble. So he made his way home to cook something to eat.
After his dinner, he went about his daily chores as usual and when done with them, he decided that today would be the day he should find out what the world looked like.
He packed down a few belongings and a big supply of food and looked around at his home one last time. He hoisted the sack over his shoulder and walked out of the place he had called home for as long as he could remember.

Illmish spent many days walking, and one afternoon he walked up a hill and when he finally reached the top he laid eyes on a wondrous building.
It was higher than anything he had ever seen before and instantly his mind started racing in all directions...

Who lived there?
Who had built it?
And what purpose did it serve out here, in the middle of nowhere?

Illmish just stood there, his mind entangled with so many questions that when he finally came out of it nightfall was fast approaching.
He quickly gathered himself and set off towards the building, intent on finding out what it was and who would live there.

As he got closer to the building, he saw that two men were closing the gate for the night, so he started running and waving his hand to get noticed before they closed it.
Illmish reached the gate just in time to get inside and the two gatekeepers gave him more than a few curious looks as he walked in.

Well inside the compound, he looked around, truly amazed of this new and big place. How different this was from his wellknown home!
As he was about to set off towards the main building to ask for directions, he was approached by an elderly grey robed man with a serene look in his face. He introduced himself as father Gregor. (this man later became Illmish´s mentor and a very dear friend).

Gregor gave Illmish a surprised look, wondering what a child was doing out on the road all alone?
Illmish straightened himself and firmly told Gregor that he might be about the size of a child but that he certainly not was one.
Father Gregor nodded and said:
- I see, then you must be a hobbit?
- Yes I am, said Illmish with a big smile.
- Illmish Blackroot at yer service.
- Well then, Illmish Blackroot, I welcome you to mine and my brothers home, said Gregor and bowed.

They walked inside one of the smaller buildings for a late meal. (for Illmish was truly very hungry!).
Illmish and father Gregor spent many days thereafter talking about many things, and soon Illmish found himself training and doing all sorts of chores with all the brothers.

As he settled in at his temporary home, (or so he first thought it to be) he was very curious and took in everything they had to teach him. (though at first he found their way of life very strange, apparently they owned very few things and was dedicated to help those in need. They also prayed, which was both an interesting and frightening experience for Illmish).

While he studied and trained with the brothers, the seasons turned in their normal cycles. And before he knew it, seven years had come and gone.

Then one day father Gregor called Illmish to his quarters and told him that now was the time for him to go out in the world and aid those that needed it. And to see for himself what was out there.

- Never fail to see the good in things or people, father Gregor said.
- You will find many frightening things out there, but trust in yourself and those you call friends, and you shall overcome even the greatest of fears.

Illmish nodded to father Gregors words and gave his old mentor a firm handshake. Promising to do his best and one day even come back to see his brothers.
As Illmish left Gregors room, he silently sobbed and dearly hoped that his old friend would be alive, should he ever return..

He left his friends and brothers the following day, and walked out into the world.

And here begins the life and adventures of Illmish Blackroot.
