Hi there :)

I'm guessing 99% of the users today won't have a clue who I am, but here goes anyway...!

Used to knock about on the duke servers a bit (lol) and haven't been on here for a good 5 or 6 years when those got shut down. Amongst 1000 aliases I was most known by ReaperUK.. any of the old dukers out there?

I played Duke3d online a few times thanks to WP Dial-Up, though I was hardly prolific...

Hey Repear, nice to know you still visit. You did dabble in Kingpin when it first warmed up too, I remember, then disappeared. I remember all those old Dukers too, great times. Didn't you play in the very, very old Compuserve Duke league too? Time flies eh? :)

Have a good new year too :)

What knowledge

I started off on Compuserve as my first pc had that and duke nukem on it. Mighty p100! Played on there for a bit, modemming the likes of Phanton UK and so on, then dusted to wireplay, won my first tourney in fact! From that day I was forever questioned who I 'really' was and never escaped!!

Disapeared off to Kali and quit duke and pretty much all gaming when I got to top spot on there. I did dabble in KingPin and a little bit of UT however my P266 and 56k dial up connection weren't really up to it, and by that time other stuff (A levels and sports teams) were taking up too much time to be gaming.

I've got another gap year coming up from June when I finish uni so I was tempted to get back into things. Whatever happenned to Duke Nukem Forever?

Reap's remember from Compuserve:

Retnor
Inferno
Pogsqoug
Arakasi
Taxman
GIJoe

I've got an old list with everyone on it somewhere, it even has their phone numbers. Mind you everyone had everyone else's in those modem-modem times. We spoke once or twice too. If I find it I'll post up the usernames (phone numbers would be useless now methinks and I wouldn't dream of posting that kind of detail on the net now anyway)

It would be a long list if we started listing old WP Dukers!

I remember inferno :)

Arakasi was an alias of Livin' i think, and his cousin also played under the name Magic Hat. Not sure if I remember the others although Taxman does ring a bell.

If I can ever sort out my CPU problems I may consider playing again!!

good old £400+ phonebills :)

Those monster phone bills were worrying. But the way the league worked was 50/50 so everyone was hit. It was also good to talk to the person you played when the damn modem dropped and you sorted things out.

Reap's: GIJoe was AKA Soupdragon. It was Inferno that told me about .cfg files and not walking. Bless him.

I remember the old days ;)

I had that many damn aliases though so don't know how many will remember me! Just been on a nostalgia trip reading up old posts. Going to post up a thread now to see whos about!
