Helo all. I ran into an interesting bug. I have looked the boards over and seen nothing on it but it is some what similar to the prestage class problem.
the problem is I was changing the look of my woodsman outfit. I seen that the ones i was looking thru did not seem to fit me they were way to large and then I recieved a programm error and was kicked out of nvn. When I tried to log back in, my charater was sent to the halls of melkor. not a problem for me just annoying. but now my charater will not load at all i keep getting the same message and kicked out.
I was with a new player the other day and he had the same problem. any ideas?
Similar thing happend to me. I was changing the robes when NWN crashed on my pc. Could not then log in with that character. Luckily he was only a low level, so I just abandoned him. Have not had the problem again though.
Hmm... you say "Keep getting the same message" - what *is* that message? If your character was left in an "illegal" state when nwn crashed (I don't know how robe crafting is done, perhaps he was wearing two armours for a second or something), the server might not allow you to log in with them... Try talking to a DM who can check your char's equipment status.
Also, do tell us the error message you get.

ok I looked again it just says program error and it freezes. It doesn't say what type just that i have to restart. It is creating some kind of error log but I have not been able to find it if you know how i can get to it that might help me give better info.

Talked to Illuvatar and he suggested it was a cep problem and to reinstall / down load it again for a new version giving that a try
I have this problem with one characetr - this was a half orc . certain character models in certain cep costumes won't work for some reason, and crash NWN. I had to restart this characetr myself.

The original CEP relese omitted certain very nice items because they werent available across the board for all character races/genders/phenotypes. Some of these, the robes and the hauberks in particular were included in the CEP update by popular demand because they add a lot to the look of characters.
We need to be aware however that certain models are not available on certain characters and this can cause hard to reverse resource conflicts that will crash NWN when you try to load that character. Its basically looking for something it aint gonna find and it gets completely lost... hey presto... boom....
On a new character like ghosts half orc it was a lesson learned and no harm really done. On higher level characters it can be a real pain as we dont like to edit characters manually due to the potential problems this can cause in corrupting the character file and possibly making it seem illegal and fiddled with when the server is deciding whether or not to accept it online.
It may involve making a new character. If you explain the problem to a willing DM maybe you can get your replacement character returned to a similar state as your original before the CEP problems occurred.
The script may be fixable to make it ignore certain models on certain races and body types that cant get them, but when you consider that there are dozens of items in the armour/robe crafting system and half a dozen races, two sexes (hopefully) and two body sizes for each gender of each race, the variables add up.. and while it might be worth doing, its a lot of work and testing...
