View Full Version : Silverswords 2nd Anniversary

Avalyn

Today is the second anniversary of the creation of the Silversword Guild, and so to celebrate it, the Guild shall be reactivated, with the redesigned (I must say, my best attempt yet) Guildhall being thrust into the server once more.

If you have kept up with the forums, you will have noticed that both the Avalyns are dead, leaving no other, and yes, this is still the case, however, there is a single Silversword left, Ashia. She has assumed control of the Guild even though still of tender years.

For those who wish to know more of the Silverswords, try www.silverswords.co.uk (and yes, we are still looking to recruit new members, both on MERP and for the official guild :P)

This guild is now operational and online. Lady Ashia is in charge, and the guild may be visited by taking the boat via Esgaroth. It is still seeking members, particularly amongst known heroes.

It is a good/neut guild and is patrolled by very tough NPCs, the sort you'd find guarding faction cities. So invading is not advised.

No evil person has made an application as of yet. I made a post about this recently, i'll try and find it.

Hmph, vanished...

Basically, if someone wishes to start a guild, e-mail me with its name, its purpose (try and merge it will with the middle earth theme) and its alignment.

Tell me where its based and who its members are. Maximum 10 members. Please note, guilds will give little, if any advantage.

Also, players with backgrounds of cheating will not be allowed to join. Players with recent reports of significant rules breaches will not be alowed to join untill a period passes which is satisfactory.

There is no level boundary for guilds. Any character who meets this criteria may join. This criteria is also extended to:

- Regular use and participation of this forum. This must be maintained or guild membership will be revoked.

- A consistent/improving standard of Roleplay.

- Regular activity on the server. We are not suggesting you live on the server, but you should be on often, especially in the evenings (GMT/UK time) when the server is most busy.

These requirements are here to ensure that our guilds represent the standards we hold in the community. Guilds are expected to set an example to players of what our community is all about.

Thanks and I look forward to any e-mails.

I wonder why a guild is limited to 10 members only? Isn't that shifting it a bit to an elitarist club by reducing new players' chances of joining an existent guild considerably?

Finding 10 fully active members who will comply with the conditions is very difficult. Also, considering we only have 32 player slots for now, there wont be much room for more guilds as most the player slots will consist of those in other guilds.

The Silversword guild has only got six members and finding them seemed a struggle.

I did mention that we'd consider raising this in the main guilds post. We have also never had a fully functional or active guild on the server before. So let us leave it and see how things go.

On the 'active' front I do know that Avalyn has been ill of late and therefore not around to get the guild moving much. I'm sure that once he's recovered we will e mroe active.
