View Full Version : My thoughts about UTT2

First of all and since I'm new here, I would like to say hello to everyone! I've been playing for a week now at UTT2, since I wanted to explore a bit before I asked anything on the forums ( you can find me in-game by the name of Valek Dark). But anyway, before I tell you my thoughts here are some questions:
1: I know that your current exp. system facilitates party play and I really like that idea, but unfortunately, I've rarely found anyone to help me with my quests (which are quite hard to solo) since I'm still a low lvl (5). So my question is, where can I find people to group with, where do most players "hang around"? My alignment is lawful evil by the way...
2: I know you have some interesting custom classes and I'm thinking about giving Black Numenorean a go. Maybe someone could tell me about all the requirements and if I need to complete anything special in terms of "RP".
3: Are there any active guilds or groups in UTT2?
And 4: Do you usually have organized events, and if yes, when or how often do they take place?
Thanks in advance for your help and to end this I would just like to say how much I've been enjoying this tolkien-based world until now. Even though I haven't met too many people, the ones I did meet were amazing, as they helped me a lot at first, and also in terms of RPing, which I can honestly say is absolutely great here. Keep up the good work and maybe I will see you in-game soon! ;)
Okies lets see if I can help
1) Really depends on what time zone you are in, a fair number of us are European, but Tharbad is always a good place to meet people.
2) No specific RP requirements, the prereqs are:
Black Numenorean
Requirements: 8 Discipline
Great Fortitude Feat.
Any Melee Weapon Focus Feat.
Human Race Only.
Any Evil Alignment.
Base Attack Bonus 7.
3) We're getting there on this front, but as yet the answer is no.
4) We have an arena contest every Tuesday at 19:00 GMT, other than that DM's run events as and when they are available. Personally I run very RP events (minimal combat) usualy around 23:00 GMT, but thats a rough guideline as it depends when I'm online and what ideas I come up woth.
Oh and welcome to our server.

The other thing to consider is that the group of high level players all seem to be nearing the recently emplaced temporary level cap of 18th level. What that will do is force those players to:
1) keep plaing those PCs even though any exp over what is needed for 18th will be lost once the cap is removed, and they will likely shave to solo since my guess is most of the high levelers will take option two or , in rare cases, three.
2) make an/play more as thier current, alternate PC(s). Im guessing the top level PCs from each faction will use this as a time to see if the grass is greener on the other side.
3) Take a break until the cap is remove and: use the time to get a life; see the sun; sleep like the living; eat something Dave from Wendys DNDN'T make; have the computer chair extracted from thier rump by a talented proctologist; experiencing an activity level higher than holding the 2 liter of sode steady to prevent a spill on the keyboard; read something ...written ...on paper...with a cover...that isnt Tolkien or set in a land of warriors and faries..er mages; and so on so forth.
Personaly I fing those opting for the third choice to be a sure sign of low moral and ethical values, totaly deplorable, and grounds for permenant banning from the server. Such distorted prioities are a danger to any addict...err...serious member of this vice..uhm I meant hobby...yeah. Burn em, burn the heretics I say!
We now retun you to your regularly scheduled program already in progress...

Thanks a lot for both your answers, I will try to hang around Tharbad a little more often. My time zone is GMT by the way, so I guess that's a good thing.
Now that I know the requirements for Black Numenorean I will surely try it, since I have most of them on my Human fighter already. :)
Look forward to seeing you all in-game!
Welcome to the community :)
We are doing a lot of enrichment work at present, introducing a lot of things. These are detailed more in the Announcements area.
Im glad Tharbad was mentioned. There is definately a higer chance of meeting people here than anywhere else as its a neutral area and caters for all levels of character. Most go there purely for the interaction.
Im hoping with our improvements, that we can make Tharbad more of a centre for encounters.
Next update will have the first guild in it. :D
Ahh this reminds me of something I was musing about last night..
Is there already (or if not could there be one in say Thardbad somewhere like outside the tavern) a noticeboard where people could put a small notice saying that they are looking for adventure or seeking help from fellow adventurer types for a certain quest/exploration?
I have seen this on a friend's server and it was handy.
The notice could disappear (gets torn down) when the person logs.
This would save quite a bit of the random invites and the odd shouts? Also could be a good roleplay prop where the like minded individuals could meet and chat over a pint and a meal inside.?
If not too resource intensive then there could be a similar noticeboard at taverns in Bree etc just for notices pertaining to the locality.
