Seems the Heavy Mace from the crafting system is an invalid target for greater magic weapon and enflame weapon, the floaty message said it wasnt a melee weapon.
Might be all the crafting weapons, and might be all weapon enchantments, but I havent experimented with any other combos yet.
It could be they it isn't possible to cast magics on them as they have been tagged as 'plot items' (or at least that was the original plan) to make them unsellable to shopkeepers - I could be worng on this but it is one possibility.
I have had that problem with a few weapons, such as heavy mace, maul and mercurial weapons. I think it may be due to the way that the weapon is coded. As they are not basic weapons from the original game, and are I believe treated as slings.

Id be suprised if its because they are plot items, I am even more suprised to hear they are "slings". But whatever the reason, I thought Id see if it was fixable. If not Id say the crafted melee weapons arent really wotrth the effort and coin, since there are others of roughy equal power that can be attained and are enchantable. Its not like they can even be sold for a single gold.
There are or should very soon ber very few items easily available equal in power to the crafting. Thats meant to be half the point of it - as more craftable weapons are added the more powerful weapons will be removed from Loot Drops and shops.
As to wether or not their enchantable I don't feel this is the most important thing. I very rarely have my weapon enchanted and seem to manage as well as those who do.
