Well I was all set to chuck the server after the manner in which a few of the staff condicted themselves, and I didnt even plan on reading these boards.

However I recieved an email notice that one of the players had sent me a PM, which is odd since I was certain I had turned that feature off, but ah well.

I log on to get the PM, and see the account has been locked/deleted/whatever. Out of curiosity I open another account to see what, if any, statements were made about it. I do have to say it wasn't that inspired a decision to post that someone has to apologize, then close their account making the reading of such a demand unlikely; Unless you were hoping it wouldnt be read. Would not be a huge suprise, if thats correct, considering the events.

I did read that Kev wasnt the DM that was playing the PC that was attacked, and therefore couldn't have acted out of spite. As such I will offer my apology to him. It was statements made by the DM(s) inolved that left me with the impression that it was Kev I was speaking to, as I have little memory with names and as a result also which DM acccount is whom. Since he wasn't acting maliciously, I am honor bound to say I was in error and apologize for my harsh words directed at KEV.

I also saw that Kev is demanding an apology to the staff involved. Im not going to apologize for my reaction since they are in error. I will say I regret not just walking away, since I know what its like to be on the DM side of the game, they get enough grief, and dont need mine added simply because they made an error injudgement. Im sure they belive they are right, and I know it needs to be the position of the DMing staff that they show a united front on DMing decisions or none of them will have any credibility. So for the grief I added to your already large load, you have my apology. I will not however, recant my position or apologize for it, as I was totaly in the right. That opinion will not change. I have shown the rules to others, and passed the events by them and a few players. So far no one has agreed with the DMs, so its not just my opinion.

As for whether you re-instate my other accounts...do it or dont. If they were re-instated, and IF I decide to play here, it would be at the request of a few of the players that have contacted me directly. It would be only those players I would interact with. I would not follow a plot hook for a DM event until their RP and player interaction improved. If the leader of a group I was in decided to follow such a hook, I would simply act as "hired gun" following the directions of the party leader, showing no concern for the plot, and interacting only with those skilled enough at RP to be a reason to stay. The only ones that would get RP from me are the players that have earned me showing that effort, a number not much higher than a dozen I assure you.

So Kev you do whatever you like, I wont lose sleep over it because other than the accusations i made in error against you, I am right, period. Dont bother closing this account, this is the only post it was opened for.

Any other players that desire to contact me may do so at wyrmwrath@yahoo.com

Until we meet again...

You know, I am sick and tired of the amount of bickering and the way people act in such incidents.

I have a single line, that I have used time and time again that I will use once more, hoping that it will reach some of your minds, though I heavily doubt that as everyone here seems to either be ignorant of what a DM says or simply believes they are doing the right thing anyway.

THIS IS A GAME, IT IS MEANT TO BE FUN, TREAT IT THAT WAY.

Now, there are rules for the server, and they are intended to protect the masses playing from the few who decide they are better than the rules, however, it is my belief, and I have stated such things before to Kev, that the rules may have gone a little too far.

I do not know of the incident that took place, else I would comment upon it. But no matter what the incident, Wyrmwrath, you are simply acting like a child. Now, dont be insulting or get insulted by this. It is merely my opinion. Everyone has their disagreements, I mean, Ive had a fight with my best mate where I almost killed him (Looking back I regret that, weve been friends most of our lives.). It is my belief everyone sees the DMs as either 1 of 3 things. The first is a Policeman, that we are only here to watch over players and at the first sign of trouble, we move to stop it. This isnt true, some of us take pleasure just watching a party roleplay (if that is what they are actually doing.) and we are here to make the gameworld a better experience for you, by having events and the like.

The 2nd is an object to focus anger and hatred upon. It seems that quite a few players do not like DMs, purely because in the particular world they play in, they hold more power than they do. And the internet is full of people who have a certain thirst for power.

The 3rd view is the view rarely seen by players, and it is what we actually are. Player Assistants, here to help you, not ourselves, we do not abuse the power that we have, and anyone caught doing so is promptly removed from the staff.

It is my humble opinion that you need to take into consideration the context you are playing the game in. It is my belief that, although this is a roleplay world and you are meant to act in character, people are taking things that go on too seriously.

I know I have not been around much, and I have no right to make such judgements, but this is just my opinion. I apologise to anyone who may have taken offense to this post, I am merely getting things off of my chest.

one final word, a lot of people seem to act a little younger than they are, to coin a phrase, act your age, not your shoe size. I believe that I am a little more diplomatic in my handling of situations (Im not bragging or anything.) and I am almost the youngest person in the community. Think upon what I have said, and next time think before aggresive comments/statements are made.

(This is aimed at everyone, not a single person in particular.)

i think anyone who does not hold the 3rd veiw should seriously re think their veiws or move to a different server.

we are guests of the dms, the mere fact we are made so welcome we concider it like a home does not give us the right to abuse are hosts.

I think I am gona take a break from the server. Personally I think the DM's are absolutely fantastic, however I don’t think all players should be lumped in to the same basket due to Wyrms childish outburst. I particularly resent the line in the above post saying:

"everyone here seems to either be ignorant of what a DM says or simply believes they are doing the right thing anyway".

The time and effort put in by the DM's and dev team is amazing and humbling. A good number of players on this server are in no doubt of that and are very thankful to the creators and service providers for the great time we have on this wonderful server but at the moment there just seems to be too much tension.

love and peace to all.

Considering you have finally apologised for your unfounded accusations against me, I shall leave this post alone. I accept your apology.

Because of this, your ban is not permanent but has been extended. It is your choice if you wish to leave or resume those accounts.

You clearly differ with the DMs who brought the complaint to me, so there is little point debating the issue further. I back the points they made and little can change that. So feel free to leave in protest or continue playing and drop the matter entirely, as would we.

Your comments on only going along with people you know RP well comes across as rather pig headed to me. Everyone has their idea of 'good' RP. If someone is incharacter, thats RP here. If they go into detail, great. Treat all RPing characters equally.

From what I can see, people seem to thoroughly enjoy RP with the DMs, in dm mode or in player mode. Many players know the identity of DMs and im sure they remember their characters well. Feel free to reminice in the forum here.

(To all: If this turns into a flame thread, it will be closed and edited as appropriate)

SNarfel, you needn't take a break. That quote was not something I agree with personally, and looks to me like it was misphrased. I have always said and maintain that 99% of the community really appreciate the game and all the goings on by staff and players. There is the tiny minority who are in it for themselves. This minority will always exist on any RP server.

Besides, I had an offer to make you so don't wander off :P

As has been mentioned on other threads, the level of immersion we feel in the world we are ultimately guests in is such that tempers will become frayed and misunderstandings will happen; at that stage its probably best to have a brew and a biscuit (or a pencil in some cases), calm down then get back in and enjoy>
The world will be less rich without Snarfels chars i reckon. We should force him to stay. I also hope to see Wyrmwrath in game, since Alexis has good loot to rob ... err, no, i meant... *shuffles off embarrassed*

I have no intention of staying away long (doubt if I could even if I wanted to;) ).

Just a little time to get things back in to the proper perspective.

Kev, I will still be on IRC pretty much daily and am keen to hear of the offer :naughty: . Either way of which I am not giving up MERP permanantly.

Bah...stupid pointless drama. Don't we get enough in the game already, yet we always seem to crave more. Avalyn made one great point; this is just a game. No point in getting pissed off over something like this, because if you do you are missing the whole point of having fun. So let's all open the fridge, drink a beer, forget it, and go back to having fun.

I know i said this was a one post account, however Kevs post lead me to belive the wyrmwrathaccount would be re-instated, so i tried checking for the Pm that account recieeved. Seems the account is still closed. Is that suspended as well or just not back up yet?

Also, Throm...ive already snuck Alexis back on the server ( ijust used the wifes puter which has a different set of Cd keys) and givin her items to the poor, there is nothing left to steal....:naughty:

(((THIS WAS A JOKE...although I can get on the server with her puter, I have not played on it))):
