View Full Version : PVP - Buffing before battle

One thing from the number of PVP fights ive seen that has come across me as cheesy and giving an unfair advantage, is characters buffing themselves and their friends whilst the two opposing parties are talking to each other.

So, as of now, I am going to say that if someone in a confrontation starts buffing themself or anyone else, this is a hostile action towards your party and you are entitled to begin fighting.

Using peoples RPing time to buff your party up and give yourselves a huge advantage is unfair, so if someone starts buffing during a dialouge, they have just initiated PVP. DMs shall also interpret it this way if posessing NPCs.

*walks in carrying a big sign saying "COMMON SENSE", then walks out... on the back of the sign, it says "... as usual...".. :) *

i loved my arrangement with prophet of NO buffing when Yûshmar fought Akbar (it was simply a longer fight with more RP possibilities)

i dont want to stress that there should be no buffs in PvP but yes common sence and it is more fun while you are already in the combat

if buffing while exploring the dungeon of the real dangerous enemies is meta - gaming or not (actually it is) would be another question :P but as i think common sence mostly is the best way to have fun and not to force DMs to make too much laws and rules..

good that you repeated this concern - thanks
if i may offer my humble opinion :P
