Ok, well, plenty of news this week, so I'll get right into it..

Bad news this week sees that Rog has had some trouble with his day job and has therefore had to step down from the art role on Air Ace. I'll really miss Rog because we were both on the same page game wise.

On the upside, a couple of new artists have asked to be on the project, so after some quick modelling tests we should be able to carry on. Both of these guys are capable modellers and I am hoping they work out as well as Rog did.

Anyway, other good news this week is that we got the first drop of the new terrain code. The following screenshots show both the new terrain and the new water. I've kind of overdone the environment mapping on the planes, so I havent done any close ups of the plane itself. But lets just say this stuff looks AMAZING in game Smile

That means that we are ALMOST tech complete for the game, with just the physics engine waiting to go in. I'll be porting the forest renderer over and getting it all in place over the next few months.

Before I post the shots, let me set a quick quiz.... the terrain in the first image should be familiar to some... can anyone guess what it is??

So without further ado.. the images!! enjoy!! Be warned! lots of images!!

The official website will be at www.airaceonline.com when we get the CMS stuff sorted out.

Its low priority for now.. as the game development is FAR higher in our todo list :)

www.airattack.co.uk forums and here will get regular updates (I tend to post at the AAC forums and lucage generously reposts here).

Roughly updated once a week..

That does look v nice, is it a mod of another game or have you developed it from scratch.

They've developed it from scatch. Zoom is in America at the moment, so we've not had any updates. :)
