Yes, I know, I lied about the use of tileset Haks! I told you all that there would be no tileset Haks whilst I was busily working though a selection I had decided to use. False pretences can sometimes trigger a greater surprise :D

For now, we will be using two tileset Haks. A full forest and rurla combined and a fantastic advanced rural/city combo. Both Haks have excellent reviews, one of which is Hall of Fame rated, like us :)

The downloads section of the website will be updated soon. In the meantime, the haks are listed here. Please direct players here or to the site when the links are available.

As you do with the merp prc hak, put both of these hak packs into your hak folder.

Both of these files (compressed) come to about 50 mb. The second file will get a lot bigger once its in your hak folder. Despite the size, expect it to be used very often over the next few weeks. Expect UTT2 to go from awesome to spectacular :D

Since custom haks are already in use, do you think it would be possible to add Sneppah's suggestion of the fully rideable horses? I've tested them out, and I believe they would be a *major* asset to the module.

Lag in Bree

To: Kev & builders

I seem to be getting an incredible amount of lag with the new tileset hak in Bree. Am I the only one having such a problem or has anyone else reported this to you ? The area load times are also much longer but I can live with that.

Bree is visually so much nicer but currently completely unplayable.

It's always "no..."

Eorhana - as far as I know no-one else has been having this issue in Bree. I've not experienced it with any of my characters, and no-one has said anything to me about it in-game or in mIRC.

If it isn't an issue for anyone else it may be worth playing around with your graphics settings.

I do get the big load time (I assume it's more to do with the size of the area than the tileset right?) but I haven't noticed any lag particularly.

And yet, you're not altogether alone in your grief, Eorhona... Trista has battled a considerable amount of lag in Bree since the change. I've experienced both varieties--stalling out on the way from point A to point B, and also walking a short way, then quickly getting warped back and rewalking the distance. Since it's not home to battle situations, the lag in Bree has been more nuisance than anything--but it has not gone unnoticed in the time-space continuum this hobbit lass travels.

Try putting the hak pack contents in your override. Follow these simple steps...

1. Go into the "utils" folder in your NWN directory and open the nwhak.exe

2. Open up the specific hak pack

3. Right click on each file inside the hak pack and choose to extract it into your 'override' directory.

Doing this could perhaps help NWN not have to load each file from each hak pack.
