Helka Again!

Hello everybody

Yesterday morez and i tried to do the helka quest. actually she didin't give it to us in the first place at all (she just said "hello stranger" or something like this) but we thought she had. when we got to the delves and talked to the miner there we had the dialog-option to tell him that helga sends us to find her mr. dwarf (forgot his name, sorry...).
so he let us down deeper under erebor where we battled some foes and reached a chamber where actually no escape was possible anymore. both transitions, the one where we came from and the one to continue were not working.
mr. dwarf was in the room but all he said to us was a merry "bah, get away!" or sth. similar.
we had to call dm elbereth for help to teleport us outta there.

i think there is no real bug with the transitions. this must have happened because we didn't have the quest in our journal (no idea why helga didn't give it to us, perhaps we have to complete another quest first...). so the actual bug lies in the dialog with the miner that lets you down deeper in the delves even though you do not have this quest in your journal.
perhaps i am totally wrong and the problem lies elsewhere. still i think there's something wrong with that quest...

You are only allowed down into the delves if you have a token from heka in your inventory. She wont talk to you if you are lev 11 or more.

Now Gargun wont send you down unless you have the token AND have spoken to helka. It now checks for an item and a particular variable at a particular value. Previously it only checked for a token. It should now no longer be possible to enter the delves without having been asked to go there.

Roli - the young dwarf survivor at the end is your means of egress via his dialogue. If he wouldnt talk to you its because the quest had not been started properly by speaking with his mother. There are certain things to say to him to calm him down and get him to listen to you.

The area transitions are not meant to work in the burial mound.

If you are under level 11, talk to Helka, go find the miners remains and the sole survivor Roli, you will exit to the iron hills and can return to Erebor to collect your reward.

Hopefully thats sorted. These changes have been made but have not yet gone online. Within a day or so they will.

dwilin's level 12. still he was able to go down without no quest in his journal. i think that's where the problem lies...

nevermind! the beginning of the quest still was great. the enemy and his "relatives" down there did catch me very very flatfooted...

Read what Olorin said -- previously you could go down if you had a Helka's token. Also, the quest used to be bugged so she never took the token off you. So if you'd attempted it in the past (before that bit was fixed), you'd still have a helka's token in your inv, which would make the miner teleport you.

The fix Olorin describes should work fine. :)
