Hi Guys/Gals!

Ok, quickie update again.

I'm currently in Singapore, waiting to fly out to thailand tommorow.

News on the Air Ace front...

Kristen checked in the first flight model prototype a few days ago. Looking good, but obviously still needs some tweaking. Not that testing on my laptop's touchpad is a good test, but there are some obvious changes that need to be made.

That said, its moving forward and thats what I like to see. Current plan is to have a playable demo by the IGC conference (www.indiegamescon.com) in October.

I'll be back from my travels around the end of August, just in time to travel to London for the GDCE (game dev conference europe). Then we should have a month of pretty solid testing and tweaking before the conference.

With that in mind, Ive commissioned some more artwork, so that we have a bunch of different planes to fly for the tests. Also we have some other varied artworks in the pipelines from different artists, but If youve ever worked with an artist over the internet, they DO tend to be a bit flaky, so its hit and miss a lot Smile

I've been slowly integrating the AI codebase into Air Ace, as I need it ready for my third contribution to the book series "AI Wisdom 3", in which Ive written an article about combat flight sim AI (unsurprisingly).

It looked like the website was going to be all ready a couple of weeks back, but then my contact went out of contact. But I DO expect that to be up and running very soon after I get back. That means loads more screenshots and stuff.

Oh, and I've started writing a series of articles on the development of Air Ace for SimHQ.com as a way of generating a bit of publicity amongst simmers. Those should go online right after I get the website up and running.

Although its a pain in the ass to sort everything out from snippets of time when plugged into a wall socket in an internet-enabled room in a hotel for a night, it seems that progress is still forward :D

Anyway, looking forward to getting back and laying down to smack on you guys when I get home! (ok, who am I kidding, getting headshotted from a billlion miles away from some sniper I dont even see).

Take care guys.. and I'll see you in a month!

Phil.
