I seem unable to speak ingame. However I can read other people's speech well enough. Anybody able to help please?

Try changing your speech colour in the options menu.
nah... i think i remember having the same problem... something in your UO dir has to be changed or deleted.. sory i cant be of more help... but i havent been a nuub for a long time :P hahahah jk

ive had the same problem
solution is to iether reinstall uo with the version you have and let the auto update run b4 you copy the loth filers into or just download Age Of Shaodows
just so you know you can still talk to party or guild chat

Not sure about that. I have a similar problem (see thread below) where I can't type in text, if I try I CTD. A UO admin responded to my problem by saying that I should'nt patch UO with the official patches. I should just install the game and then install the Loth patches and nothig else. I am going to uninstall UO and reinstall but not patch and then apply the Loth files and see if that fixes my problem.

Just to let you all know, I did what I stated above and I no longer have the problem.
