Lately, the DMs have been coming to me with reports of what would appear to be adminism and compliants about players whilst they are on duty. Most of these complaints are often unsupported and some are not even legitimate.
In order to make life easier for my staff and players, I'm going to make this general statement for the benefit of the whole community.
1. Adminism
This is where a player may:
- Seem to 'police' activities on the server
- Assert OOC authority which they don't have
- Exploit their friendly terms with an admin to get another player in trouble.
- Seem to spend most their efforts on looking for 'trouble makers' to report.
Adminism is unwelcome here and is a banable offense, though fortunately, nobody has ever had to be banned for this and I hope things stay this way. Moderation, investigation and dealings with unwelcome activities is the duty of the DMs only.
2. Making a complaint/warning about a player
Nothing is perfect and we understand that on (hopefully) rare occasions, you may wish to make a complaint about a player for whatever reason.
I personally and other DMs don't like having to listen to complaints and warnings when we are on duty because we end up having to put activities we are running on hold and it just generally disrupts whatever we are trying to do.
For the benefit of DMs on duty and in the interests of players enjoyment of the game, I would like to bring everyones attention to this new way I have asked the DMs to deal with complaints and warnings:
- DMs will no longer deal with complaints and warnings about players when they are on duty.
- If you have a complaint or warning about a player, you need to do the following:
1. Create an e-mail addressed to kevin.balmer@ntlworld.com
2. Explain your concerns in as much detail and as clearly as possible
3. Provide appropriate evidence to support your claims. If you do not provide evidence, your e-mail will be deleted and the issue dropped. If your complaint or warning is deemed legitimate, the appropriate action will be taken by staff.
- If you bring up a complaint or a warning of any kind regarding a player to a DM, they will ask you to follow the procedure I've given above. Please do not continue to discuss it with the DM.
- Remember that this procedure covers EVERYTHING to do with information/comments/complaints to do with the integrity/actions/history of any player.
This statement is for the benefit of the whole community and to improve the experience for both our players and DMs.
Thankyou for your Co-operation in this matter.
