Are the back doors on Battery blowable with the current cfg? Need to be. Also do we make the ramp blowable with cov ops pack or make it dynamite only??

Wondering what map to use to replace Railgun? I personally liek the Lord of the RIngs maps but not sure they would be popular with others. Maybe Dubrovnik? Or Supply Depot? Maybe even Assault?

SupplyDepot2 I would suggest.
Dubrovnik and assult are more likely to discourage ppl. Everyone has and knows supply. It has pretty much become the "7th standard map"

Ok then I agree with that. We remove Railgun and put in Supplydepot2 instead.
How about a vote on Railgun though? We could see if it was possible to make it a voteable map...just that one though. I personally don't mind it, and if the majority of players wanted to play it could we not let them vote on it? Or shall we shelve it completely in favour of Supply??
Also do we want to change the customs that are running? I mean Gold rush and Oasis are on on there. We could put the SW version of both. Radar needs to be removed from the customs in favour of something else too.
However how popular are Custom servers?? Do we keep it as one or make it SW for example?? I personally don't like sw. I have also noticed that the spamy servers are popular with the players in general (I know some TFA don't like it but we trying to cater for the community) So maybe make it a larger player server like the BUH one perhaps??
So we'd have standard server, 6 maps, ff on, 1 heavy weap a side, quicker map changes, message of the day changed, pop up message reminding people not to spawnkill/camp etc, the irc channel
Other one either 6 custom maps same settings as above, or a mixture with more players.
Thoughts??

I think I go with Supply Depot like Surfin said, it is also one of the smaller custom downloads. Maybe have an option to vote for Supply, when railgun is loaded. I don't have anything against Railgun especially when the admins will kick spawn killing twats ;)
For the Custom Map Server
The idea of balanced campaign is appealing, but not enough good (Axis attack) maps
as a general thought on my ET experience, the main reason why I don't go Axis that often is having to defend all the time :(
- As for Custom Maps:
+ Venice (Fixed Map)
+ Dubrovnik (Fixed Map)
+ Transmitter
+ SW Goldrush
+ Supply Depot
+ Caen
+ Braundorf
+ Raiders
(subject to change: will need to look at the definate nono's though)
All the others can be rotated fortnightly.
On the problem about defending all the time
- Swap teams at the end of the campaign imho very underused
- Voting changed to 60-70% majority

- If server can cope with the amount of players (Good idea) without alienating players like our Vio ;), and not being like crawling through mud because the lag is bad
- No more than 31 players (the mentioned server has 36 + lag) so cut back on players a little
- SW: not a fan either, but can be included for admin purposes ;)

Do you mean you can swap round the teams so Allies would have to defend on Goldrush?? Or do you mean the players are swapped to allies from Axis??
Either way could be a goody on the standard server coz in theory you would get a 12 map campaign :)
As to custom maps, you're a much better judge on them than me and a few more Axis attacking ones would be good. So go and research :)

More brief thoughts (not including settings)
-20 is a good number. (20 + 2 private slots at most) else too much spam.
-Do not mix customs too much with main maps. 6 standard SD2 + 1 is the most general ppl will manage. Too much more and there server will empty.
-Campaigns over 6 maps generally put ppl off when in mid-campaign.
-Shuffle at end of campaign is pointless as alot of the time ppl leave anyway.
--Even a shuffle after each round can be pointless as ppl who want to whore will go spec until spaces or leave and teams get on sided. Voted "shuffle without map restart" may be a easier way. TFA are usually capable of keeping a balance.
As for a customs map server...
It is all about personal taste.

With regards to "Swapping Teams".
1) The nature of the game involves people joining at all stages in the campaign
2) YES. People do go spec to whore it up or whatever
3) People leave after campaigns is normal, more people leave if they have to get their arses whooped again defending against an awesome attack or vice versa. I personally try to swap asap after a campaign is finished e.g. usually one where allies have won campaign in quick time
Basically whatever we do you can't impress everyone. For those who play properly ask yourself "Do you want to attack or Defend for campaigns?". I guess most want to attack, so why not give the poor chaps who are defending a chance to attack.
Implementing Swap Teams
With regards to Custom Server, if done well it can work.
- 2 Customs on a 6 Map
- 3 Customs maximum on 7-10
The main problem we need to address is the lag. Perhaps it is just a simple case of running a defrag on the system:spin: or probably just some tuning with the config. Once we get a relatively smooth running server people will come.
From two nights ago it was clear why people left and judging by comments it was the above as well as the easily solved balanced teams option.

Right so can we try and address the lag first please Vamps??
What do you need us to do to help? Traceroutes any use??
We also need to make ickle changes to the CFG (add SD2 and remove Railgun and the other ickle things, Balance teams, FF on, limit Heavy Weaps to one of each kind)
Oh and some passwords too please :)
I know yer busy but any ideas of when we can test for you or how near u r to sorting??

I think I might know why its a bit laggy. I just had a look in ASE at other servers and their setting for SV_Rate is a lot higher than those on the WP servers. The average seems to be 25000 where as the WP ones are set to 15000.

1) Custom maps - supplydepot2 and/or caen2 (as Thorns has mentioned, the original caen tends to end up stuck at the tank barrier, the v2 has more routes and has no barrier. Perhaps the sw version of goldrush now and again?
2) etpro scripts - backdoor on battery, poss dyno ramp. forward spawn for axis on railgun. allies cp spawn on fueldump / stop building 2nd part of W dump wall.
3) !beer binds etc (like on BUH server) :elefant:
4) warmup time is currently 60 secs - can we shorten it to say 20?
5) I like the idea of autoswap teams to stop one team defending all the time.
