UOA for sphere

I have followed theinstructions toa"T" so I believe but its a no go. I canonly get the optionto cancel once UOA loads up. I downloaded.
opened exe and cancelled the updates
coppied over the 2 files (the tried all files coppied over)
tried initiate UOA using desk top, the from start menu
still nothing.
What did I miss?
Plz help.

2nd question is there a total skill cap of700?

No the total skill cap is 900 and as for the UOA i just moved the activate UOA to a different folder and re-extracted the files and it worked for me. i didnt use the desk top icon or the start menu one just the one in the folder that i re-extracted. hope that helps any.

note: this solution involves editing a game file and so should not be used unless you know what your doing and other ideas dont work, if you do use this make sure that uo is closed before editing files.
1. Go into your UO install folder (probably something like c:\program files\ea games\Ultima Online 2D)
2. find a file called Vercfg.cfg and open it in notepad
you should see two lines like this:
patch\
compassion.owo.com 8888
change the line compassion.owo.com 8888 to 127.0.0.1 8888

this now means that when it looks for updates for UO it will actually be looking at your local computer to find them (which obviously they wont be there) and you should be able to click the OK button.

... or do it like im doing just open again zip file and open uoa from it - always works u dont have to stop the update when u intall it if u r doing it this way ;)

What I always do when my UOA screws up is keep a .zip of my UOA folder that works perfectly.
1 )Uninstall UOA completely from your computer(keep the zip)
2 )Extract anywhere
3 )Run the UOAssist.exe thats in the UOA folder(not atoluoassist folder)
4 )Install in the same drive you extracted your zip to
5 )Go to your new directory that you just installed and there should be a UOAssist.exe in there. Highlight>Cut>and paste where your other UOA directory is and overwrite existing UOAssist.exe
6 )Run UOAssist.exe and there shouldn't be any downloads to cancel
7 )Login and click on the ? on the bottom right of UOA and click on Registration and paste this in the textbox: tN2qD8,$MEd8,=je,4XrG,V}}9d,2fK]j,[Tu~,TXYK,+r
8 )Press OK and you should be ready to go.

The only thing you need is the compressed(zip) UOA folder if you're gonna do it this way.

well i dont unzip it second time ;) thats diference in our methods :o

i just disconected my comp from the internet when i was installing, thus it couldnt get on line and u could cancel the update before it completed it (i was on a T1 at the time)
