Placing a gem on a bow of vanq

I'd like to know that if I place a manaflow gem on a bow of vanquish, the manaflow gem will work properly?

In the case where you discover that you can gem a certain weapon yet it does not receive it's runic effect, you can page to get your items replaced, although I'm not aware of any weapons where this is the case.
