few questions

here are a few questions I've had for a bit now that weren't fully answered by players in game.

what are the following used for?

Fertile dirt
Bone
deadwood
serpent scales
fire vial (was told for a bow is there anything else?)

Is jewelry good for anything if it's player made? or only the enchanted ones?

and last but not least. I've worked up my mining to skill 41.? real and I've yet to see anything but Iron.... do I need to go mine elsewhere for it?

Fertile dirt, Bone and deadwood have no uses
Serpent scales are used for serpent scale armour
fire vials are used only for bows
its good for decoration if its player made jewelry :)
Only time location of mining would make a difference is if you are in the newbie mine as you can only mine iron there, anywhere else you can mine any sort of ore.

thanks for the info! now I can go on collecting all kinds of stuff I don't need ;)

any plans in the near future to have uses for any of that?

erm, cant you make bone armor out of bones pilze?last i checked you could, but that was a long while ago.

I'm a big fan of eye candy for this game.... and plants would be a LOT of fun I think(fertile dirt), being able to make bone armor from the bones(although they drop aplenty) since when you ID them it says bones and leather. could be fun too. also how about some new potions possibly? (fire vial could be fun for a fire breath potion maybe *grin*) and yes I have a LOT of ideas. as for the jewelry. a small chance of a minor enchant could make them more apealing *grin* like +1 or +2 skill stuff... minor. or maybe make them have resistances? like ruby=fire resist? if you need ideas let me know I'm always full of them :P

Fertile dirt -> you could plant plants. Very fun, if you introduce seeds of several different colors and make it so that cross breed types of seeds.

Serpent sacles -> i dunno... making +x damage arrows would be fun.

the plant thing was already implemented in the official shards but I think it would be interesting to see it here. scales could be used for other things as well as armor/weapons. maybe some special looking anvil made of serpent scales or some decorations?

using GM item ID it says "made of 6 bone" it doesnt actually say there is leather involved :)


erm, cant you make bone armor out of bones pilze?last i checked you could, but that was a long while ago.

unless i'm missing something obvious (i tested using 100 bones, some leather and a sewing kit) there isnt a way to make bone armour from bones :)

Also a use for serpent scales i forgot to mention earlier (busy day yesterday :P ) you can use them to repair leather armours.
