(As can be seen in the current Module Start area)

Greetings,

First, may I apologise for not updating the newsletter sooner. I've been rather busy the last few months, but I'm beginning to have more time to work on the project.

We have had some excellent new content and changes made recently which we are sure you will all enjoy. A lot of work has been done of late to improve gameplay and reduce instances of bugs in the game, which has been a criticism of our work in the past. We are committed to building a strong relationship with our players and will be putting a lot of effort into this, as you will see over the coming weeks and months.

Recent changes include small updates to parts of Bree, made by myself, along with two new quests which should prove most enjoyable to new players or those starting the adventures of a new character.

DM Aiwendil has been hard at work updating and improving our scripts and systems. Much of his work is documented on the forums and we would like to thank him for all his hard work so far.

DM Curumo has been working on regionalised items such as herbs, potions and poisons. Some of these resources are now in the module and are gradually being implemented around the world - the full benefit of this project will be realised soon.

DM Olorin continues to forge ahead with the new Tharbad. He has a few loose ends to tie up before it can be released. This update will be something very special, making the existing region much more rich in activites and places to go.

Make no mistake, Untold Tales II is being perfected to be the one place for Middle Earth Roleplay. Your suggestions are being used and the requirements for all manner of characters are gradually being met. With the coming of the Tharbad update, we intend to attract more top-notch roleplayers to our community. Old faces are welcome here too. We need your help to do this - do you know someone who may enjoy our game? Did you once play here or know someone who did? We can confidently say that Untold Tales is reaching a level of perfection it has never seen before - come and share it with us!

Finally, before I shoot off, I'm delighted to confirm the launch of our NWN2 project. We will once again be making a sequel to the Untold tales series called "Untold Tales of Tolkien III" (Provisional Title). A public forum will be made avaialble soon for discussion of our next project.

NWN2 is due for release (at this time of writing) on October 20th 2006.

Enjoy the game and thank you for your continued support.

Comments welcome.

I'd just like to say a few words towards the July/August 2006 Newsletter. Reading this newsletter had me looking back on the module, back from Untold Tales of Tolkien, to the improved Untold Tales of Tolkien II, and finally leading to our current Untold Tales of Tolkien II Gold module. I have seen some impressive modules with vast and incredibly beautiful areas and wonderful well thought out scripts before. However, I have never known a server as excellent as Wireplay's MERP UK. Not only is the module incredibly designed in mind for the players both with amazing roleplay-related scripts and area beauty, and regular updates that most often do not exist at server, (as we see with the new and improved Tharbad being released soon), but the community itself made up of both of players and dungeon masters give the server its perfection today. I'd like to give a hearty, "thank you." Firstly, to DM_Kev and the entire Development Team as well as the Dungeon Masters that create the world of Middle Earth that we play at. And secondly, to the players that shape the world into a growing community that far surpasses any other Neverwinter Nights Community. Roleplaying has never been at its finest.

With the release of Neverwinter Nights II fast approaching, it seems that the time of Untold Tales of Tolkien II Gold is burning out quickly. Perhaps by the new year (or sooner?), we might all be enjoying a new sensation of Middle Earth roleplay on a brand new module beautifully designed by the same first creator, Kev Balmer, as well as the new developing team that have helped shape the original modules in wonderful ways. I look forward to contributing towards the ideas of the development of Untold Tales of Tolkien III, as I'm sure all of us players do.

Through all of this however, I am curious whether UTT2 Gold will stop running, or will continue to run in a less-than-populated state? Obviously the new module will be the highlight of all players (especially if I can get my computer upgraded in time :P), but it would be a shame to let our beautiful module go to waste. I am sure this has already been thought of by the module hosts, and answers/discussion would be welcome.

Once again though, thank you Wireplay and MERP UK. I have been playing here since the first summer of UTT1, and never can seem to be able to leave. Never have I experienced such a wonderful module and Community that support eachother so well, altogether to create a perfect world of perfect roleplay.

UTT2 will continue to run while most of the development team are working upon UTT3. A few of us (myself being one) will keep an eye upon things. however as you can well imagine most of our time will be spent upon the new project. So you will only get minor updates if they are required.

I hope this answers your question.

The staff already have a NWN2/UTT3 forum which is being used to lay down some foundations for our plans - things we want in, things we want to improve, etc.

We will soon be setting up a NWN2/UTT3 subforum for public use. Of course, comments, suggestions and even assistance will be invited :)

I'm delighted to be heading up UTT3 - our most ambitious project yet :)

*an undead creature is opening his coffin, climbing out to say hello this is morez and he is not dead*

well as someone here certainly (hopefully) or at least maybe will remember me!
Because of real life and other reasons I stopped playing NWN and therefore wasnt seen here anymore since a while!
From time to time i am looking around here at the forums just to really see how this server becomes more and more close to the status of perfect (yes kev you are right here) and i really appreciate that cause this was and is for me the most important and creative community that I had the honour to get to know...
Probably i will join the server from time to time, hopefully I will just run right into an event :P

I am really looking forward for NWN2 and what this very best MERP communtiy will do with it..
