Unfortunately, Wireplay Radio has been discontinued. This has been confirmed by Qube.

This is due to the License problem. A License costs a few thousand pounds, which Pipex (rightfully) will not pay for.

Without the License, Copyrighted music cannot be played over the Radio. If someone does, that person can be prosecuted. I am not taking that risk, and I will not allow any DJ to take that risk.

I didn't want to do this, I love Radio with all my heart and really enjoyed my time as CL and Manager.

I would like to state that this does NOT mean I'm leaving Wireplay.

Far from it, I'm working with the powers that be to do other things in the Wireplay Community.

I apologise to the loyal and long term fans & thank them for all of their time & help while running Radio.

I wish I could keep Radio running but I'm afraid there's little I or anyone else can do.

I too am very sad to see the radio service go. It was a difficult decision to make, but there was just no way of reviving it without music playing a role.

It's with a heavy heart that we lay this longstanding service to rest, but in doing so, we can look to the future and seek new ways to engage the community.

Wireplay Radio has always been about the community and the staff involved have been those you'd always find leading from the front and coming up with exciting ideas to liven up the community and make it more successful. These efforts wont be forgotten, and in ssmmdd's case, you can rest assured that he will be in a new community centric role before too long.

Ive not been around wireplay all that long and havent seen the radio in operation, but its a shame.
