If you are a player or DM on UTT2 and have never visited the NeverWinter Vault, on IGN and voted your preference to our server, I highly encourage you to do so. The Vault is viewed by many players looking for a place to play. Untold Tales of Tolkien 2 is a Hall of Fame entry, currently ranked 118 amongst all categories of servers in NWN. If all of us, who have not yet taken the time to register and vote on the NWvault would do so, we would easily move up into the top 100, and possibly around the top 50. That is a very high position for an RolePlay server, as many of the top servers are those that are only PvP arenas, or Action based servers. By moving UTT2 up higher in the rankings, it will be more likely to be viewed by other players. This will benefit all of us, by having a larger more diverse base of players on the server. It will also benefit the prospective new players, as I think we would all agree, this is the best server around, and would allow them to experience what we have all shared.

Its been three weeks since bringing this topic to the attention of the community, and UTT2 has moved up 27 positions to 91st in NWN top rated gameworlds. A great place to be, especially considering some of the servers that we are rated higher then. There is still much room for our server to improve in the rankings, especially considering it has only received 40 votes over the past 3 years. We have been seeing some new blood on the server, and I think it would increase even more by getting the ranking a bit higher. So, if you have yet to vote on the NWN vault, please follow the link above, and help promote our community. I believe a top 50 ranking is very reachable.
On a side note, the gameworld description on NWVault sure could use a few more screenshots from the latest module version. Visuals and area design are a very strong side of UTT, you really don't want to miss on that when spreading the word.
Also, should a player come from the Vault, the first thing they usually do is check the website (and not the forums). Keeping that in mind, it makes sense to post news on the website as well (even the smaller updates), since it makes it clear to anyone who happens to pass by that the server is alive and well, and is being actively developed further. It's also the opportunity to sneak in more tasty screenshots in the update notifications. ;)

Agreed, snapshot of some dwarves drinking in Erebor is going to appeal to dwarf players but few others and UTT2 is about a lot more than that.

Is there any way to get players to be redirected from the old MERP area on the vault to the MERP II area. I say this becasue one person has voted for the old MERP back in Feb and makes me wonder how many people end up in the old MERP area and not realise they are not in the area for the latest version.
Also if you put in a search on the vault for "MERP" MERP II does not come up, any value in rectifying this?
I'll have a play with the entries so it all leads to II
Awaiting the updated UTT1 entry to be approved. The description within points people to UTT2.
UTT2 has had the info updated a little and i've added a fair few pretty screens.

Currently sitting tied at position #88, with a rating of 9.86 out of 10.00 (43 votes). I have spoken to a handful of new players that said they have given our server a try, based on checking the available servers on this list. So, to move ourselves up higher on the list, and more visible to new players, lets keep getting the vote out.

This is just the beginning of greater things - we have something very special to say, but we're still not quite ready to spill the beans :)

Just a reminder, that Untold Tales of Tolkien is still one of the top-rated game worlds in NWN. Our current ranking is 73rd, with a score of 9.93 out of 10.00. Obviously if this only included Role Play servers, we would be much higher, but being rated in the Top 100 is quite an achievemnet. If you have never cast a vote for our server, it is highly encouraged that you do so, and try to move us up into the Top 50. Especially with the new additions about to be added to our server, this will help attract many more new players, and give them a chance to enjoy the same great atmosphere the rest of us have discovered here. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Gameworld.Detail&id=346
