Well all, let me introduce you to Armed Assault, the most realistic FPS available on any console/computer (so realistic infact various millitarys use the engine for training). Armed assault is not about score, its about working as a team, and you have too to win, otherwise your fragged.
As in other FPS, you can take many bullets and keep on fighting, not true in ArmA, take a hit to say the head.... thats it.. lights out (though most maps you can respawn if you wish), get hit in the arm, blood trickles down your arm and you cant aim very well :P, get hit in the leg?, well.... you can always crawl.
Armed assault isnt just infantry fighting, oh no, theres TANKS!, and JETS!, and hundreds of other vehicles you can get it or take command, ranging from pickup trucks too a Cobra attack helicopter, all vechicles in this game are usable and not there for fancy.
Now, lets talk about the scale of things.
The playing field is a island..... one HUGE island, where there are no loading messages or changing levels, it litterly takes around 2hrs to run from one edge of the island to another (thats if you go round the mountains :P), there desert, dense woodland, rolling hills and large lakes, this game doesnt just play good, it also looks good.
