Down to the last four

Well after tonight's match it looks like we're down to the last four clans.

The draw for the semi's will take place tomorrow, so watch the forums for the result. Oh and don't forget the second round map is de_cbble.

My opinions on the final four -

BOD - Our latest addition to the final four and the clan with the most rounds won, so far. Having watched the game yesterday I make BOD favorites at this point, simply due to their round rate. To use Premier League football as a comparison, BOD are the Chelsea of the tournament, playing a defensive and tight game, where all the players know their role and play it very well.

WCUK - Wild Cards are an expressive team that play to win with an attacking style, much like Arsenal they have some top players who aren't afraid to go outside of the game plan to win. Strong leadership and lots of practice have got WCUK this far and could get them all the way.

CiC - Are the Portsmouth of this tournament, their own players have said that they're 'Punching above their weight' as they're a TFC/FF/TF2 clan and have very few CS:S players. They've played out of their skins to get here and I don't see them just rolling over in the next round.

Blackiron - The Manchester City of the tournament, in so much as they're an unkown quantity other than their top performance against Snots. They were well drilled at Dust 2 and played with some style and flair, whilst getting the job done. Can they go all the way ? We'll soon see.

Tay - The John Mottson of WP/CS

The draw has been made and I can't wait for these two titanic clashes.

CiC vs Blackiron.

This one's going to be outstanding. Blackiron were affective and efficent against Snots, they got the job done without drama and a lot of fine shooting. Tactics are going to be very different for de_cbble, there's no one point where one team or the other can spot from, so bomb site choice is going to be the key for both sides. CiC played to their strengths on de_dust2 and I fully expect them to do the same on de_cbble. The teams are pretty evenly matched scorewise, so this is going to be close.

WCUK vs BOD.

This one is going to be down to numbers. WCUK played an attacking game last round and overwhelmed their opponents with sheer numbers and skill. BOD played a more defensive game getting their players to the right place at the right time and doing their job. If this one goes with the form it'll be over very quickly with one side or the other winning the numbers game.

I'm really looking forward to both matches, all four teams have more than earned their spots in the semi.
