I have a bind for each class that tells my team which class i am, every time i spawn. unfortunately some ppl get really arsey about it especially on spammy maps like dustbowl! i did not play tfc that much but i`m trying to have fun playing ff and this admin has pissed me off, my idea of fun has just evaporated! you may say that he/she`s the admin it`s at his/her discretion, they have the final say etc but like referees in football they make mistakes.
i don`t know of any rules about spawn spam, i did not see any in the motd and have not seen any "written" rules for it on the wireplay site. it might be common sense not to continually spam mm1 but it was mm2 and it was only continuous every time i spawned, there is no key bound to it. i could have just sat on the fence, but i`m not going to let it lie. if i was a newbie and this happened i would probably not join that server again or i might think twice about playing the mod again. i have seen this kind of crap before on dustbowl in tfc... before the gates open soldiers rocket each other, it`s a way of "warming up" and even though friendly fire is off up pops an admin and says no team shooting...total bollocks. i`m the type of guy who runs through the enemy respawn with his medpack out and never infects anyone in there, but i don`t really care, my message is, admins please lighten up ? feel free to flame and or close this thread i`m not really interested. my opinion is my own and i do not represent my clan with it.

I know what you’re saying to be honest and I've actually been in the reverse situation on TFC, albeit that I've had players complaining about my text spam even though unknown to them I'm actually an admin. It does seem to get annoying to other players, even though your own setups are built around clan play.

I simply ended up modifying my configs so my general public ones did less spam and I didn’t annoy people so much. I’m not sure it was my issue mind that they couldn’t understand the reasoning’s behind it, however for the sake of people’s enjoyment I did make the change. Perhaps thinking about it though my configs may have contained even a bit too much spam for clan games, although fortunately clan games you often stuck to the same class.

There is no clear right or wrongs here though. Yes there is a rule about text spam, whether in team chat or general and I guess could be applied to this. However, I do also fully understand your reasoning for your setup.

What was ridiculous warning I ?

As usual in these cases there is selective memory . You dont post the complaints from other players . You neglect to post the various warnings that I gave u .
You chose to do what u want to regardless of those around you .

At no time did I threaten to ban you , in fact that was your idea . It was your choice to bring up bans , as your quote says .

Back the admin 100% of the time.

Admins call, you asked for it and you got it.

Stop moaning like a spoilt child, you agreed to the 'Terms of use' policy when you signed up and played on the server, if you didn't read them then it's your own fault, not the server admin's.

I sometimes think that players foget that admins on WP are voulenteers and do the job in their own time. You want the admins to lighten up, then have a little more respect for the other players on the server and you might get some of that respect back. . . .

hmm on average i make that 1.775 lines of spam based on the 40 mins shown, but i bet you can find more. i would hardly call it spam abuse. my condumps do not have timestamps. i like the way you have closed ranks. but my point remains my mm2 was not aggressive and maybe admins should not just listen to the players who constantly whine. Sid i would have expected more from you than ridicule, the amount of times people are portrayed as being childish if they complain...

Spam's not always about quantity though. The fact was that it was annoying a few people though, and tbh the 'FEEL THE BURN' was a bit pointless and more excessive than needed. It's more the kind of thing I'd hear someone annoying saying after they'd just got a pyro kill, along with the lol headshot type phrases.

When I first read this I was simply expecting it to have a message everytime you changed class, but this isn't the case here. Your message was really a more 'I'VE DIED' message, which I guess would would be fine if you were in a CTF defence type scenario. If you were sticking to Pyro, I'm sure there would have been little need to remind everyone you'd died and were continuing to play Pyro.

Just simply feel you need review your setup as I'm sure there's more effective ways of doing it.

I think Sids was really ridiculing that laughable comment on reporting the server, and seriously that does sounds quite a n00bish comment, which I obviously know you're not. Who to? I assume Fortress Forever Staff, although given response over on their forums I can't see you'd have had much joy there.

We support Fortree Forever quite well currently imo @ Wireplay, especially considering the current playbase which exists. I feel Fortress Forever is becoming quite elitist far too quickly, which is unfortunately doing little to help take the game forwards.

Seriously though, I think you've made this far more an issue than it actually was.

It would appear to me, that this is a poor attempt to get some attention, having post about this on other forums unrelated to the wireplay admin staff. and with the sentance "feel free to flame and or close this thread i`m not really interested".

It would suggest to me, that this is simply a spam thread, and should be closed. however ill leave that choice to the FF admin staff.

this isn't a spam thread, it's a player voicing his concerns and the resulting responses

there is no reason to close this thread or even to suggest closing it

there are enough moderators from this community reading and posting here, so you don't have to worry about it

How about just playing the game and doing what an admins asks you to do. Not rocket science is it. Even a muppet like me can work that out :wiggle:
