Lorien

Hello one and all.

As you are aware Kev and Av both seem to have departed these shores and headed West.

Sad though these happenings are we have to move on. To this end I have been appointed Community Liaison and I'm happy to annouce DM__Sauron has been appointed Deputity Community Liaison. We hope we can both answer your queries and keep our server alive and growing.

On that note we are happy to welcome back DM_Vaire to the team. Vaire used to and I'm sure will agina run some great events and has great ideas we hope to implement.

Talking of implementing already we have things moving. Expect to see very soon a change to the gold/xp on respawning loss - this is a trial system and may change again, but we hope the new system will encouragce new players to stay and more experienced players to play their higher level characters. Watch this space for more news on that one.

The player manual is also being brought up to date to accurately reflect how things currently stand.

Beyond this I am currently working on getting the next Lothlorien quest into the mod in the next month - with a bit of luck we should be playtesting by the end of the week.

After this our aim is a minor or major update every 6-8 weeks (hopefully less than that but we don't want to make promises we can't meet) - this may be extra merchants, items, caves to explore or quests and more, but our aim is to fill some of the gaps that currently exist. We are also investigating some existing crafting mods to see how they may fit into our world - again watch this space for more news.

Well I will stop here for now - I hope you feel you can approach all of us with ideas and questions - and we may be looking for more staff in the not tto distant future.

Enjoy UTT2 and we hope we can keep it enjoyable as we maove forwards.

I am happy to be the first to applaud the appointment of our new CL and DCL. I look forward to participating with all of you--admins and players--in making UTT2 everything it can be--and much of what JRR Tolkien would have liked to see.

Congratulations to the new CL and DCL and welcome back DM_Vaire. Hopefully this is a beginning for a new golden age for UTT and it seems like this is a good time for me to return here too.

Sad to see Avalyn and Kev so absent. Kev felt really like sort of a father figure to this server and its players and Avalyn was a fun chap. But you guys must move on, and I appreciate it.

I wish to give my sincere and great wishes of good luck to the future of this server. Lets keep this great community alive and growing and have lots of fun on the server!

All good news, and particularly so those of DM Vaire's return.
Still looking forward to that update :)

A word of appreciation to all those who have welcomed me back to this role with such generosity — and particular thanks to the admin team, whose closer company I had missed so dearly these past many months (excepting, of course, for Curumo's, whose collection of hobbits'-feet still appears considerably greater than Sauron's :P ).

I'm looking forward to being of what service to the community that my talents afford.

Congratulations to you both! I'm very very happy with the new arrangements, and even happier it happened so fast! And welcome back Vaire! You were one of my favourite DMs, and it's lovely to have you back!!

I would like to thank everyone for their strong show of support and congratulate Lorien on his new appointment.

It is nice to see so much enthusiasm and we anticipate moving quickly to make noticeable change. We are hoping that this translates into more enjoyment for all of us and an increase in our already growing player base. We expect to launch shortly some new quests and regular events to keep you on your toes and expand our arsenal of adventure.

I would however like to point out that while my hobbit foot collection does not yet rival Curumo's I have more elf ears.

It's a pity that Kevin and Avalyn had to leave, but I am very happy to see changes again. Congratulations to DM Sauron! *cheers*
And welcome back DM Vairė, it is indeed good to see you back in the team.

Which one of you holds the record for dwarven beards, then?

Which one of you holds the record for dwarven beards, then?

I think that would have to be Yavanna

DM Curumo
18-06-2008, 18:38
Indeed Yavanna grows the best dwarven beard amongst us.

But of course Lorien claims his is bigger, which cause quite a stir down in the Anvil.

DM_Yavanna
18-06-2008, 19:54
Yes, Karzal Gemchiseler is very proud of her beard, which rivals that of any noble male dwarf!

(It's all in the fertilizer, you know, and as Kementari.....well, need I say anything more?) :p

Sadly, both DMs Araw and Lorien have had to resign from the UTT2 admin team because of heavy real life demands. Araw will continue as an active player when he can, and Lorien has agreed to continue to work with the development team.

Those of us remaining on the team would like to thank both most heartily for years of contributions to our world. Lorien was among the original builders and DMs, and Araw has been a creative and highly constructive sponsor of innovative DM events both as a player and an admin. We wish them well and hope that they may see their way to contributing to the community in whichever role they may be in.

Few can match either in their contributions to this community. Though their presence on the admin team will be greatly missed this is not goodbye, but rather a change of roles. Lorien's knowledge and experience will still be a resource for our young Dev team to draw upon. Araw can be expected to contribute as a player and his knowledge and experience are there for us to call on when needed. I would like to thank both for all they have done to help build and entertain this community, something for which we are all in their debt.

It is not possible to say good bye to these two exceptional individuals. I hope that your RL stressers relax a bit in the not to distant future and you once again have the avalability to grace us with your knowledge and expertiece of the world of UTT2. Till next time..... and Thank you for what you have given us already....

On another note, today I was appointed Community Liaison and have in turn appointed Morgoth Deputy Community Liaison and Eonwe Head of the Dev Team. It will continue to be our goal to keep up with the many changes that are taking place on our server . I hope to have regular announcements of new improvements and additions to enhance your enjoyment of Untold Tales . I am honored to have this responsibility and look forward to the challenges that are ahead.

I wish Sauron and Morgoth all the best as things move forward. I hope that the whole community will likewise support them.

I am sorry to have to step down but this is best for the team, the community, wireplay and myself.

As I get more time available I will continue to do things for our world. At the very least I would hope to finish off the Lothlorien quests, and if time allows I will do my best to add some 'evil' quests as well as other little bits and pieces.

Its a heavy mantle to bear for anyone my friend. You have moved the community and project forward and nobody can ask more of you for that.

I extend my support to the successors and hope to see Lorien continue to contribute.

Happy new year everyone.

Morgoth has been forced to bow out due to family commitments which naturally takes priority over all other commitments at this time.

Im happy to reprise my role as lead admin which I held for five years. With a steady hand and a commitment to new developments and hopefully, an addition to the series of modules, I hope to restore and build upon our success as a community and server.

Thanks to all those who supported me since my return and gave me everything I needed. Im looking forward to the challenge, its going to be fun for all of us.

Further to my previous announcement, im also pleased to appoint DM Eonwe to the role of Deputy lead admin. We have both worked quite closely over the last few months, so hopefully the strength of our team will reflect on the development side of things.

The ever loyal and wise DM Yavanna will continue to moderate our forums and participate in key activities.

At this time, our active team is as follows:

Iluvatar (DM Kev)
Eonwe
Morgoth
Yavanna
Roac
Galadriel
Vaire

We have a number of inactive team members. When we say inactive, we mean that they are considered part of our team, but at this time they are unavailable. Expect to see familiar faces reappearing somewhere along the line.

Finally, a quick opportunity to say thank you to all contributors and goodluck with your upcoming works.
